Haltech vs. Uprev
Haltech vs. Uprev
Hey guys, I'm looking into going FI this spring and I'm wondering what's the best ECM to use. I'll be doing a single turbo build, looking to get around 400whp on a stock block. Which is the best ECM to use and why?
Since you think they both are in the same level then why not add Motec to the mix too?
Thanks for the responses guys. Sylvan Lake V35, Sasha did the ST fitting on my car last week. I'm going to be going ahead with the kit this spring, but I'm trying to figure out what my best tuning option is. Sasha is running a Haltech with a base map and street tune, but is also finalizing a deal to distribute Uprev software. I could go with an Uprev tune through him, but is the Haltech worth the extra money?
I am using a haltech. I have a g35tt i made 508whp. We have had great success. Located in Oakville, Canada

Ask your self, why do we even get an EMS if we dont want our motor protected? IMHO pretction is a must especially for stock motor.
Haltech will most definitely be better if you don't take price into consideration. Since you DO care about the price then it's all up to you. For 400whp though, I would say no. Maybe even for 500whp I would say no. For 600+ then I would spend the extra cash.
haltech all the way. choose ur tuner carefully. some of them lure you in with fake promises of big and safe power that can ruin ur car. pay good money at a known tuner for our cars it will be worth it especially if u dont build ur engine. it took me a few tries to get it right.
avoid oakville tuners, iv had horrid stories lol.
