It all depends. Once you pressurize the intake side of your engine you will need to open up the exhaust side. If the exhaust creates enough backpressure your boost will be worthless. You have to let the engine breath.

Supercharged engines love headers, provided you have the rest of the exhaust unrestricted.

Whatever gains you would see N/A will double with the SC.

You will not see enough gain to warrant the price ratio.

Re: should i change my headers if i s/c

the sc needs a little backpressure or you will not be able to built adequate boost, my vortech, felt stronger once i removed my injen exhaust, and left on my test pipes with the stock exhaust.

Re: should i change my headers if i s/c

felt stronger, but was it? What did the dyno say? I ask for 2 reasons, one, I am going FI in a week or so and have the Injen exhaust...two, it felt like I actually LOST ponies by adding the Injen exhaust, but a recent dyno day showed a 25 pony gain over stock...I have cats too, but I'm sure the exhaust helped. I put 265 to the wheels with the mods listed in my profile...(exhaust, cats, short ram intake)

2 G or not 2 G, there's no question!

Nark, do you have a wideband A/F? If so, which one and where to get it, if not, why not? Do you have an Oil Pressure gauge...same questions.

Tig, same questions.

Nope, only reason I see to own a wideband is if you like to tune yourself. I had mine dyno tuned and never needed one. I have however installed an EGT gauge on cyl 6 to monitor exhaust temps. Fuel pressure as well since I have 2 fuel pumps and want to make sure both of them are working in tandem.

why two fuel pumps? I'm getting the Vortech system, will I get/need two pumps?

Re: should i change my headers if i s/c

the vortech kit comes wiht a aux. fuel pump from what i was told....

Also, most people notice that with the stock exhaust and FI, they get better numbers such as I with the Stillen.

Injen has my car again today for the wek, they are revamping the exhaust. =)

Re: should i change my headers if i s/c

I'm assuming they get better #'s cuz of the Y-pipe...causes more compression, where the Injen is more OPEN...BTW, I haven't called Duy yet, but my ish is still blowing fiberglass all over the @ss end and one tip (driver side) still turns black, while the other doesn't...I was waiting to tell him if the rasp comes back from all of the fiberglass blowing out...I thought this system was from the new run? Pisses me off cuz I had that damn rental with bad breaks for a whole week and it seems like I have the same exhaust system again, minus the rasp...in time though, it'll be back too.

Re: should i change my headers if i s/c

That sucks and sorry to hear that. The new exhausts are being test fitted on my car as wel speak and they are dyno'ing my car and trying to come up with different approaches and get some ??? answered.
