TT Track Junkies...Need your Input!
It dose not reduce overall coolant temps just helps keep coolant temps from racing.
Hopefully i'll get a chance to look at your car this weekend. I really hope that moving the trans cooler to the underside may work. It does block a large section of the radiator. The only 2 FI cars with problems i know are auto, and both from Relentless.

Anyone who has the GTM fan shroud can you comment on the effectiveness of it? I know it's expensive as fawk but if it will make that big of a difference I will consider it.

its a fan shroud with two SPAL fans bolted to it. you can save yourself ~$200 by buying a mishimoto fan kit and swapping out the mishimoto fans for SPALs. whichever route you go, you'll have to do your own wiring and/or get a standalone fan controller.

Maybe Ill get the mishimoto kit and swap out the fans.
the fans have 2 conductors each, but the OEM fans have 4 conductors each. its not as simple as twisting wires together. if you want the ECU to control the fans using the OEM coolant temp sensors, you need to connect the wires to the OEM harness in a specific manner. alternatively, there are aftermarket controllers that can tap into the OEM sensor and provide greater control over the fans (lower turn on point, variable speed, manual operation, etc).
these two threads provide the wiring diagram you can use to connect the fans to the OEM fan harness:

Wiring isn't an issue. We solved that a long time ago
I'm on the Mishimoto after my FAL fans melted on me
. I'm running a very similar cooling setup and I have issues on the street still. I cannot for the life of me figure out why we're overheating so damn much.

I got the Mishis I wired them to the stock fans wiring and they are controlled by the stock ECU. i might switch control of the fans to my Vi-PEC though.
For the life of me I an NOT find a wiring diagram of the cooling fans in the FSM?!?
I want to run relays to handle much larger fans and need to know which factory wires are triggers and which are ignition. (prob not proper terminology as I am referencing Spal wiring diagrams)
Anyone know what pages in FSM might have wiring diagrams showing this info??
Thanks

hope this helps - note that the wire colors may be different for your year (mine is an '05 coupe)
there's also a diagram over on my350z from when folks were wiring up aftermarket slim fans (mishimoto, SPAL, etc.). I used that diagram years ago when I installed mine - will see if I can find a link to the thread.
EDIT: Looks like you found the thread I was referring to: http://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-d...an-wiring.html
