FI Gas Milage Thread! A chance to Brag!!!

I know there are various ways to calculate milage, but what I do, is I fill up to the same point every time, take the number of gallons needed to fill up and divide my milage from my last fill up.

Here are the numbers...

1st fill up after going FI = 19.3mpg
2nd fill up after going FI = 20.6mpg

After driving from Chicago to Columbus Ohio = 23.4mpg
Driving Columbus, OH to Nashville = 24.6mpg
Driving around Nashville during ZCon = 15.4mpg! hahahaha,

I drive pretty conservatively, but I am going to say, with 60k on the G, 5500 FI'd now, I am getting better gas milage (when staying out of boost, normal everyday driving) than I did N/A.

Not that it really matters, but I thought it would be fun to brag about. I mean really, who goes FI for gas milage! hahahahahah

Nothing brings a smile to face more than hitting over 20psi I have NEVER ran a full tank with out multiple full boost pulls and milage is the last thing I ever think about calculating

if I can keep my foot out of it on the highway I can get in the high 20mpg (but its tough to keep foot out of it at all).

Spirited driving on pump gas is in the 9-12mpg range.
Spirited driving on race gas is in the 4-7mpg range lol..

I really dont care about gas milage...but the point of this thread was to brag about your gas milage, if you can get some high numbers!

Its tough for me to stay out of boost, but I challenged myself to on trips just to see what I can do, and if I can do better than before. In fact, I am getting better highway milage than when I was n/a, so I reserve the right to brag! hahahhaaa

I would say that anyone that is bragging about gas mileage here is probably running lean and needs a tune... I could make a few simple tweaks to my fuel targets and hit 30+mpg if I wanted...but why risk it?

higher mpg = less power. So bragging would mean lower mpg is better. Tom wins . I've never managed to get below 10 mpg overall for a tank. I'm going to try harder though.

EDIT: at the airstrip, my mpg must've been single digits. forgot to document it though - doh!

^^ not always true. I made more power by going from <=11.0 to 11.7 afr so less fuel = more power in some cases :-)

Depends on if you have too much fuel to begin with. Too much fuel you will lose power, so yes in some cases removing fuel will increase your power.

I hope you're never running into boost... reason being there's no way you could be boosting while sporting near-stock MPG's unless you've got a terrible (read: dangerous) tune.
