Upgrade for more power..

While waiting for a spot to open up at the shop. Im getting my upgrades in order for the next install.

Car should be in the shop by April.

I have the Haltech, 1000cc in, 11lb wasitgate springs, and soon the new twin disk clutch on the way.

my question is that since im gonna be runing meth and race fuel in the high hp range.. should i heat treat my manifolds down to the open dumps?

I really wanna go as far as my mid pipes down to where the muffler are but is that really ness?

swain tech coatings was the opt i was looking at doing..

Would the advantage be decreased air intake temperatures or protection of the manifolds from damage at high heat or perhaps are you thinking about both?

For the latter I haven't really heard a lot of issues of injury to the cast manifolds on my350 or here.

I ceramic coated my exhaust manifolds and turbine housings. I will ceramic coat my downpipes when they are complete.

There are two benefits to this.

First, and most importantly, it will keep your engine bay temps lower. The first time I ran my car hard with my first TT setup, it felt like a heat wave hitting me when I opened up the hood.

Second, since it is maintaining more of the thermal energy in the exhaust, theoretically it should help to spool the turbos faster. How much faster, I don't know - probably not a whole lot faster, though. I have looked, but have not seen a direct comparison of spoolup speed on the same build with ceramic vs. uncoated components.

I also coated my hot sides, manifolds and down pipes (which are quite long and extend about 1/2 down the tranny) I also noticed much cooler temps when opening the hood.

to protect the maniflold and everything thats within the path from high heat temps. the Mani is cast but the down pipes and exhaust pipes aren't..
