Nopppe! Chevy small block! Its merely a optical illusion!
OP, great build man. You really have a professional look to your work. The seats looked fantastic. Any pictures of the interior all installed? I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, best of luck getting it done before ZdayZ!

So my apartment complex made me get the car out and so i had to move it to my friends storage room. Bearings will be here tomorrow so i should have the engine together by wednesday. Here are some pictures of how it sits now and some parts i got today.

The rings should be here tomorrow so the engine will be going together this weekend and hopefully in by next weekend. I am going to have to run it on a break in tune for zday. I was hoping to put it on the dyno at zday but i guess i will have to save that for another year.

So i was putting the bottom end together yesterday and i got the crank in and torqued down and everything was ok. I started putting the pistons in and just hand tightening the rods on the crank. Once i had all the pistons in the crank still turned normally but once i started torquing the rods down after each one the crank got harder and harder to turn. By the fourth rod i couldnt spin it at all. I have checked the rod clearances and they are ok .0018. Checked the rod caps to make sure i put them the correct direction and they were all ok. I have plenty of assembly lube. I need help anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Well i figured out my problem. The chamfer on the stroker crank is larger than the factory so the bearings have to be cut on the edge. Here are some pics from the weekend.

Absolutely ridiculous build.. hard to believe it took this long, but I do understand. My previous DD was down for two months awaiting my ported and ceramic coated intake manifolds to come back from MAP.. You must be dying to drive that car. Good luck, sub'd!
I don't understand how the bearings do not fit if you measured the crank before ordering the bearings??? The chamfering I thought was just to increase lubrication from the oil holes and it takes away material - shouldn't affect bearing clearances, should it?

The chamfer is larger than factory so there is less surface for the bearing to ride on. They do this on performance cranks to make them stronger. Acl says on their website that they design their bearings for this but I guess it wasn't enough.
