Cool G35 Greddy TT Project Questions

Hi everybody,

I have a G35 2004 coupe 6mt Premiun package falt black and going TT with it.

So far this is what I already got:

-Greddy TT Kit (18G Turbos)
-Greddy Intercooler Kit
-Rc 650cc injectors
-Obx fuel rails
-Light Dampers kit (3 pieces)
-Eagle Rods
-Brian Crower valvesprings and retainers
-ACT Clutch kit 6 Puck with springs
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-Utec
-Aem gauges (wideband and boost)
'
My questions are, my car have 75K miles and I haven't bought pistons yet. I have been reading and found 8-5-1 compresion ratio is the safe one (I like that!!!). size is what I'm not sure, 95.5mm or 96mm??? My mechanic told me because of the milleage of the car 96mm will be better (some extra work to do with this choice).
Also what fuel regulator match with this project? 1:1, 4:1...???

My goal is 450-500 HP.

Interested on your opinions. what pistons should I get? What fuel regulator?

Are this upgrades ok for my goal? More suggestions?

Thanks!!!

Apreciate your comments.

Phillip G35,
Welcome to FI world
With your power goal under 500 hp, I would not recommend doing springs and retainers on the heads. Springs & Retainers do not work well with stock cam (do some research G35). The stock heads are good upper to close to 600 hp capability. Just have the machine shop take a good look at these, replace some wear and tear OEM parts, clean and mill them, call it a day for your power goal.
Pistons: at 75K, you might want to go with 96mm for a better fit. I recommend 8.8:1 over 8.5:1 pistons for a better power curve (less lag). You'd get to feel the "kick" around 3k RPM instead of waiting until you hit 4k or higher. Remember, you build this car to drive, to have fun with NOT FOR SOME DYNO BRAGGGGGG . Unless you are, go with the lowest pistons available Wiesco 8.8:1= affordable or CP makes 8.5:1...good luck with your build Ned

Thanks gang unit!!!
I'm new to this and whant to learn and be instructed by the ones that know.
About the springs/retainers, I haven't bought them and more people told me the same about no need for them, so is $400 on my side now
About the 96mm pistons, thats exactly what I was thinking (because of the 75K miles), now about the compression ratio, 8-8-1 wiseco are less expensive that CP and is true....my goal is to have fun, never a track or dyno freak!!!
So thanks a lot, very helpfull your coments!!!

Phill go with the Wiesco 8.8.1 thats what i have with my 20G.. remember the lower the compression the more lag.. its gonna take time for your turbos to spool. But since your turbos are smaller than the 20s you should be ok on the 8.8.1.

also if you wanna do 500 or more at the wheels your gonna have to ditch the UTEC.. (its limited when you are trying to make huge power).. If your looking for a failsafe custom Fuel return sys that uses twin pumps and a surge tank.. hit me up in a PM..

Lance

ditch the Cometic Headgaskets and go with the HR headgaskets... but your going to have to get the block machined for it.. might as well if your doing a build. your also gonna need to get a complete eng gasket kit, new timing chains, retainers. Also u need an rev-up oil pump, and def go with a pathfinder cooling kit and upgraded RAD.. many parts are going to come in play with this build.. shop around thou

subscribed, not to jack but I just got a gtreddy TT as well, but I have a build engine and need a new Rad too.

I was thinking the Koyo V is best for price and reliabilty, I see the mishimoto a lot cheaper but have been told the quality and performance isnt there...
