Clutch & Flywheel combo for FI

Hello all

I just need some advice on clutch & flywheel combo for an '05 6MT. . .

Am planning on going FI and my tuner recommended OS Giken for $1,500 with flywheel, since it will be a daily driver.

I heard OS Giken is really good and not a pain in the *** to drive on a regular basis. . .

Someone mentioned the ACT # NZ1-HDG6 & Flywheel # 600215 combo for $1k

The OS Giken is really tempting but it's gonna blow out my whole budget.

Any other recommendations?

Spec twin disc goes for around 1100. I am using this clutch and like it a lot.

ive been looking at that OSG as well. i want something really light thats also able to be daily driven. im n2o, not FI, so thats really important. i wish there was something as light as the tilton that you could drive. i wonder what the next best thing is, and how much of a compromise it is to run that daily versus the OSG.

Is that just the clutch? How about flywheel?

I mostly hear the OSG though. . .

Hopefully people will start chiming in on this post.

That's the spec clutch and flywheel combo for 1100.A little stiffer than Oem but real close
And very little to no chatter which is important because the lightweight flywheels all have chatter just some more than others.

Not much to chime in on with a $1,000 budget Nismo, Jim Wolf, Spec, OS those fit that range. Up your budget to +$2,000 you could start looking at some nice twin plate clutches most guys making over 400ftlbs of torque will be using twin plates.

But how's that compared to OEM? It's going to be a daily driver.

Budget aside, what would be your recommendation for the overall best clutch flywheel combination?

i would recommend the carbonetics triple disc. awesome drivability for daily and can hold quite a bit or torque! close to stock feel. 38k miles and still feels strong and clampy

Best overall depends on what you want it for? personally I like Exedy products some like Carbonetics. Drag racing with 600whp triples like Carbonetics and Exedy are good, over 600whp and Tiltons are the best but you will hate it if you have street driving involved at all.

Exedy twins are great for street driving I also had a JDM Nismo twin they are made by Exedy it was also I nice all around clutch. If you are under 400whp and don't plan to go over that I would look at Jim Wolf or USDM Nismo single plate they have near stock drivability I don't have any experience with OS giken myself I know guys that run them and like them. I don't know much about ACT, SPEC are cheap but if you google SPEC for 350z they have had lots of issues. Str8dum1 put over 900whp down with a SPEC twin and some say it was the earlier versions of the SPEC that had issues .
