Air filter right off turbo? Cone or mushroom?
Air filter right off turbo? Cone or mushroom?
Just like it asks. I have a turbonetics single turbo kit. I will be swapping to a Garrett turbo soon... But for sake of clearing up some room in my engine bay, and also wondering would I benefit from losing the pipe and putting the filter straight on the turbo. From what I found out in the end it really makes no difference. I'm also getting a larger intercooler soon. Mines a little old and banged up... I may stick with it just a thought..... But last question mushroom or cone. Why one over the other.
Appreciate the input. There are pros as cons to both... But dirt in the pipes from a brand like greddy.... Means I will pay the extra 20 bucks for it considering a have over 10k into the motor alone. But what about tossing it on straight at the turbo?
Thats an option, but you'll be sucking in higher temperatures since an intercooler can only do so much for cooling. Unless your running a liquid-to-air intercooler. Personally, I'd prefer the filters outside of the engine bay.
