Hks DLI or no?

I asked this on by build thread, but I'm opening up the question. My car has a fully built motor, and a upgraded turbonetics kit. It's tuned around 582hp. I'm putting a new radiator on the car, new pullies, larger intercooler, and possible a Garrett t3 turbo. I should be tuning it up a bit more. My question is would you get a hks DLI? I'm just not sure it's necessary. Ill be dropping a few hundred for it. Save my money, or pull the trigger? I've heard cars idle better, but I'm more concerned about detonation on wide open throttle. Or just day to day driving. If it won't make a difference ill walk away from it. Help

Save your money as it really did nothing for my setup.I had to pull it off as it killed cylinder 6 and have noticed no change.

If you add anymore fuel (power) you'll need it, almost guarantee it. They are expensive. Find one used- a sinch to put in. You really don't want pre-ignition issues, that'll put you back a motor. You want to make sure you're sparking all the fuel.. I'm surprised you don't' need one now, so you have to be right at the cusp.

I'd love to hear why that is.

Our ignition systems are pretty stout and this piece is a complete waist of money.I agree with Raj on this one.

I ended up getting one for a few reasons. One I got a good deal. Two I have on th back of my plenum 2 custom fuel lines and invectors that dump in fuel if I'm running lean or anything goes wrong. So since I have more or less fuel going in to the air I want the max and correct spark. It installs easy and once in and on the dyno ill post if it did anything. I have to hit up a dyno no matter what because I am installing new belts, pulleys, racing radiator, and the DLI. I was thinking of doing a new turbo, and blow of valve, but I decided against it.

Many cars have made power well past 1000 whp with the stock ignition system AND there have been a few reports of it causing damage to the ECU as I recall. I would not install it.

I have data logged the power feed line to the coil packs and the supply voltage does decrease as rpms increase by a small amount (approximately 1 volt). But it makes no difference. I installed a Ken Bell Boost-A-Spark to stabilize the voltage at 16 volts. It worked but made no difference whatsoever. Not 1 hp difference.

No modification to the ignition system is needed on this platform.

What do the old school guys know anyway it's not like they tried **** out when this platform was in its infancy.....I'll say it again it doesn't do anything many guys have had it on and taken it off mine is somewhere in my garage collecting dust for the last 4 years. Our ignition system is very stout no one has yet to find its limits on a street car.
