Exclamation Maybe a new G owner? Let's see what you all think

My name is Zach and I'm from the Cleveland, OH area. I've owned a Talon tsi awd and an evo 8. I want to try something different but I don't want a n/a car. I found a really nice 05 G35 coupe 6mt with a single turbo kit. Basically what I want to know is reliability of it. I already know there are so many variables and it can vary from car to car. What I want to know is who has had a FI G with stock internal blow up on them? Was there any signs? Or did it just go with no warning? The car runs flawless and doesn't smoke at all and the motor sounds nice and quiet. The car has 98000 on it and the turbo kit was installed at 88000. The things I know about the car is it has a Momentum Performance single turbo kit, seems like it has a very good tune, Momentum exhaust, slotted rotors, works rims, exeddy twin disk clutch (installed with the turbo kit), cf hood and trunk, and a good looking body kit (not a fan of body kits but this one looks good). Made 420 whp. I planned on doing the motor eventually but I want to be able to enjoy it for a while before I stick a ton of money into it. It won't be a dd, I'll be driving it on nice days and weekends. I plan on buying it this week so any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated

I suggest going through the FI threads....Personally you are taking on more of a risk buying a Turboed car vs doing it yourself...Never know how bad its been beat on....

Thanks for the quick reply. I know that's why I said there are so many variables. I know I could never get a definite answer so I was just hoping that everyone has had some kind of sign before it went

have you purchased the vehicle yet? if not, get compression and leakdown tests performed before buying. if you already bought it, have those tests performed before pushing it hard.

if you have any pix of the car, post them up here and in the FI section on my350z. perhaps someone will recognize the car and can give you some more background on the owner/build. its odd that someone would sell a car so quickly after boosting it...unless something is wrong...

I have a compression and leak down tester. He's bringing the car to me from 4 hours away because I have a bank check and he wants cash so he's going to cash it at the credit union I got it from. Which this will be a good thing because after that long drive I can look over the car before I give him the money. He owns a business with his friend making custom radiators and intercoolers and piping and him and his friend are buying gtr's. At least that was his story. But it does make me feel good that he trusts it to drive 4 hours here
