A BADDD situation

Today I experienced overheating on my turbo G35.

I found out after a short drive to get some Chinese food, that I got the white smoke coming from my hood. I went to open the hood and found coolant spray almost ¾ all ova the engine bay. I went to check for leaks and couldn’t find anything. Afterword’s I let the car cool off then cleaned up the coolant that was in the engine bay. Later on I started the car to move it back to check if there were any poodles under the car.. I didn’t see any, so I drove the car down about a mile and a half to get gas when I noticed my engine temps rising up to 300 im like fuuuuck I shut the car down as it just went into limp mode. I went and check the engine bay and there again I seen coolant spray over the engine bay but not as much as before. So I waited about 45 mins I started the car to drive the remainder .75 mile back to the house since I had just turned down the block. The car suddenly goes into limp mode with the CEL coming on.. giving me jerks.. I barley touch the gas and just coasted to the house. Finally after that little drive home of jerking off and on I made it to my driveway. I let the car cool down once more then I opened the hood to see where my leak was.. Then I found it. It was un the bottom rad hose a big *** whole.. I’m nearly pissed myself realizing I just drove this car with minimal to no coolant going into the engine.

Now the million dollar question is “What damages has been Done?????” =(

Man sorry to hear the crappy situation you are in. I would not have driven the car myself but got it towed as once it's overheated you know for sure there is minimal coolant remaining.
Last time I had this (on another car) the heads needed to be resurfaced and new gasket.

hey paul hows it going? I think I didn't do much to the car since it only coasted less then a mile.. the limp mode I was experiencing was kinda the same as someone else who ran into this same issue. And he pretty much didn't have any head gasket or any major issues at all. So I'll just xross my fingers. I did a 2nd day express on some new silicone coolant hoses. Once they get here I will swap them on and bleed the coolant system start the car and see whats what.

He buddy, I am doing fine. As you know I think....I started a new job 4 months ago and now working for the competitor.

Other than that I am in the midst of finishing off the M5 build and trying to look after the G35 as it gets up there in miles

I will pray for the best on your car too

Hard to say. Fix hose, fill and burp coolant, and see what happens. If the hose popped off, then you have to ask why it did so in the first place... Might want to also change oil if you ran it very hot.

*Update*

Goo to go, brought a new hose kit replace the one with the hole in it. New coolant, bleed and the car runs great.. Thank good no internal issues. I zipp tide the bottom hose to the fan shroud so it will not flex under boost..

Sometimes, I think you do that on purpose.

My lower radiator hose was rubbing on the ac compressor

Replaced the hose and secured with zip tie as well. Except 3,000 miles later the belt got really frayed and needed to be replaced as well
