What would be the realized power gain for spending $1400 on a new HKS exhaust if I were to pay for a Vortec and install? Would the exhaust really give a much bigger hp/tq gain over the stock exhaust alone?

Remember I'm running intake, Crawford: Plenum, Headers, h/f cats and a y-pipe...

Trying to get a handle on the overall cost including tuning. TIA.

 

I am in the same boat as you, I got my SC installed a week ago and from previous experience (I have a TT also) any breather mods help a ton on a FI car, I am in the process of installing a Fujitsubo y pipe, exhaust and Crawford HF cats myself.

Did you see the need to upgrade your TB and VB since you're AT?

 

Anything you can do to free things up is great! But if you tweak it you will need to get a tune.

 

Have you considered the APS ST?

 

I am going to get the Limited Flash for sure as I floored the sucker on the freeway and it went to redlined and prob. hit it before it changed gear, I will then do the VB upgrade but not so sure about the TB, still mixed on that one.
