I'd like to know what tools you thought were critical for install or would have been helpful to have that you didn't have that would've cut down on install labor?

Did you have an install guide? Is it downloadable?

Have a good set of metric wrenches and box set, especially 10mm and 12mm. Several lenght ratchets with extensions with deep sockets too. Also, the tool that is provided with the kit broke right away when I tried to use it. I made another one, stronger (which you can see in some of the pictures). Other than that, all common mechanics tools.

The Guide is on APS' Website at http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/35...stallation.htm

Thanks! I picked up my kit at GRD almost 2 months ago, and waited until last week to get the G35 supplementary kit. Killing a C5 Vette, which I just did today, makes it all worth it.

Thanks for the info. The APS site indicates the necessity of auto transmission upgrades (I presume valve body or maybe also torque converter). Did or are you going to have these done? How safe is it to drive it without the transmission upgrades?

No idea!!! I didn't worry about that since I have an M6. Sorry.. Maybe others can contribute although APS' Website says:

"Auto Transmission Applicability Reference

1. Physically fits
2. Requires torque capacity upgrade by trans specialist"

For those interested, I added some new pictures on http://www.science.uottawa.ca/~paul/...o/index_7.html

Please let me know if you want me to take a picture of something specific.

Will do! I have a friend of mine coming to my place tonight for a test drive. He's got a video camera, so we'll make some footage too.

As for the Vette, I didn't have my camera with me.... :-) But it was fun...

Couple more ? if u don't mind:
- where do temperature probes go (on outside of parts or actually inside somehow)?
- no radiator change?
- no gauges? (any planned?)
- water cooling turbos not required? (but you're planning on it cause it was part of the kit?)

Thanks!

The EGT probe was installed on the LHS exhaust manifold. Pics:

Nope, not for now. Probably not necessary for stock boost.

I have the Zeitronix. Pics:

??? The turbochargers are already water cooled. Unless I didn't get your question... ???

Cheers,

Thx for all the info! Did that gauge come with the kit? Does it measure oil pressure?

And sorry - you had just stated that you had a "water injection kit waiting" in your garage to be installed. I thought it was for the turbos???

No, it is separate from the kit. Zeitronix Kit: http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm

It does not measure the oil pressure directly, although you could tap the oil pressure signal to the ECU and have it logged on the Zeitronix. Instead of oil pressure, I wanted the knock sensor values. The stock oil pressure warning is still there doing its job anyway.

This is the water injection kit that I bought. Water/methanot is injected directly in the intake. I had this plate made instead of drilling the intake tube:

http://www.science.uottawa.ca/~paul/.../G35TT160.html
http://www.science.uottawa.ca/~paul/.../G35TT161.html

It sits between the upper plenum and throttel body as you can see.

Later,
The more typical location for the WI nozzle is "before" the TB.
However; as long as you provide a check valve or anti siphon solenoid ( to avoid water injestion under idle and high vac conditions ) the water feed position you chose looks very professional though. I will prolley just weld a bung a few inches past the MAF and BOV, in a configuration that allows easy nozzle removal and inspection , alteration.

BTW What AM nozzle size did you pick?
