I think the autosport harness is a great buy for $300. If you ever want to go to another FI setup or trouble shoot it, you just unplug it and have it in your hands.
I really don't understand why Vortech did a couple of things the way they did them. If I was to do this install over from scratch with all of the parts in front of me, I would definitely do all steel braided AN lines with better fittings, as well as some really good fuel line hose clamps.
I need to learn more about the R4 Software and how the tuning works.. why couldn't I just use an existing map that someone has created for a 3.33 or 3.12 pulley, plug in the information on the laptop to the SS Box and be done? Why would I need to get the car dyno'ed, why would I need to do any runs? I guess better safe than sorry and some bragging rights of course.

They're really ALL that's "needed" according to the installer at CP Racing.
Damnit, now I may have to go spend another $300... and to think I'm now considering a new front bumper.
SPONSORS NEEDED! SERIOUSLY!

So CP said we should get them?
It's a reversability issue.
For someone like me who changes their mind every 6 months or so, being able to remove something is key. If you plan on keeping your car for awhile and know that you won't need to change anything, don't waste the $300.00, especially if you are having someone else install it.

If I am not mistaken, that should cut down on the install time. Kinda sucks that we spend the extra 300 bucks so they have an easier time to install it.
I don't plan on parting this thing out..but....we all know my tendacies to flip -flop.
Hey Neff...does walmart carry these too?

Don't be scared by the on-holiday thing, Courtesy Nissan has a couple of these in stock, I ordered mine and received it 3 days after ordering.
This doesn't cut down on the installers install time, they are still doing the same amount of wiring. Besides, CP Race has installed "over 50" vortech kits and could do this with their eyes closed. If you don't need to worry about taking the kit off, don't waste the $300 in my opinion; especially with how flip floppy you are.

Damn you g8tor20. I'm all messed up. Terry put up a post about 1 step colder plugs and I replied to that. You then asked if we needed "them". I thought you meant the 1 step colder plugs.
Yes to the plugs.
No to the wire harness patch.
I'm not planning on taking my S/C off ever. I guess there's really no need to spend the $300 for a harness that I'll never disconnect. Only good reason might be to upgrade the SS box in the future which I don't plan on doing.

Sorry for the massive confusion Todd. Thought you could handle the cross-issue but I guess I was clearly wrong.
ps. What front bumper are you think of getting?
