I sure wish the wire harness patch was out when I had the SC put in .

[1] easy way to check if some thing is wrong with the SS box or the wires...just unplug and replug the stock harness back in.

[2 ] You can take off the blower belt...plug back in the stock harness and be N/A again..if need be...long raod trips ....send blower in if seals go bad

[3] if you decide to take off the kit all together

[4] ease of installation

I wouldnt even think about wiring up any thing to the stock wires if this was out when I went F/I

Unhappy Let me tell you my story

I too have no reputable tuners in my area- I took my G to Orlando in based on a referal by Vortech (about 80 miles away). I went to the SMALL shop and had the install done, no tuning. The S.E.S. light came and had it checked by my dealer in Melbourne. They pulled a "Lean" code. I made an appt to go back to Orlando to have that fixed and a couple of other minor issues. I'l keep this kinda short but they had my car for a month and put a 1000 miles on it. F*@% yeah, I was mad. But it gets better- Noticed some wear on the cog belt- before leaving the shop- a nik in the belt with a couple of threads hangging out which were cut off. I questioned the owner about it's condition. He couldn't locate a belt and the owner assured me it was fine to drive and off I went. The car seemed great until about half way home driving down the highway all the dash lights come on and the tach goes to zero. My car died going 70 mph on the highway. Anyway- The new threads from the belt hit 2 wire belonging to a valve sensor nearby. The car wouldn't start. I was majorly pissed off. That was 4/20.(ironic) Currently I still have no car. It is at another shop and has made a trip to the Orlando dealer for a New computer ...FYI they run abount 800 bucks. They got the car running and they are a night and day difference from the ship that Vortech sent me to. But now it looks like they are having issuse tuning the car because I had them run it on a Dyno and it only pulled 307 hp - the car is running rich over 5000 prm and they are looking for a way to fix it. Almost 4 months with out my G and not sure when it is coming back. With my own experiecnes Not being by where your car gets worked on really really SUCKS. I have to send it to Orlando to get the stereo installed too. Hope tha'ts not a Fiasco. GOOD LUCK

meekopeeko,

I've made a suggestion to you before and I'll do it again. If you want to get your Vortech installed and tuned properly, please consider Lokey Infiniti in Clearwater, FL. They will fix any install problems then send you over to Coastal which is about 30 minutes away. Coastal knows the R4 s/w inside out. Within 1 week your car will be fixed, tuned and putting down some MAJOR POWER.

Personally, I'm having my install done in NC due to an insane install and tuning price. (Basically I'll get a free vacation out of the deal and still save money, plus this shop has done a bazillion Vortech installs on the VQ) otherwise I'd be at Lokey Infiniti having the work done myself. They've had 2 successful installs to date and those cars put some serious power down for quite some time. Esemes and Gspot35 are the 2 guys you can talk to should you have any specific questions.

I'd really like to talk to you more about this. Check the Florida G35 Club Forum here on driver and maybe consider showing up to one of our meets.

Get your car out of that bull**** shop. Take your car to someone who knows how to tune a system and stop letting them tell you that you tune it via the FMU washers. It is 99% your fault for not researching who is a reputable installer in the florida area and knowing what it takes to tune the car. You don't need to know what the operation of tuning is, you just need to know what it TAKES to tune the car. The SS Box has a port on the side of it that hooks up to a laptop for a reason.

I am sorry to hear about your misfortune, but when you just buy something and take it to a random place, what are you really expecting? Now, the other 1% blame is put on the shop that installed it and you have a case on your hands about them driving your car and abusing it. Also, they let you drive the car without the kit properly installed! I would give them absolute hell.

Turbo, Maybe you overlooked the part where he said Vortech sent him to this shop. I don't think he did anything wrong, but now that this guy is in a jam, I think he should go to a place that has tuned Vortech S/C's on G35's and 350z's before. The closest place I know of is Coastal.
