Insurance for FI Drivers

I contacted my auto insurance rep and asked about getting my audio system and mods covered by my insurance. Well My agent came back today and said the audio equipment is not a problem, but Nationwide will not cover any FI products. They called a few other insurance companies and no one will touch it. There area a few insurance companies that specialize on exotic cars, but the rates are outrageous.

Anyway, I was wondering for everyone with heavily modded cars, what do you do about insurance? The only reason I asked is because if I get into an accident, God forbid, how can I re-coupe all the money and time I have put into my car.

Any suggestions?

For those that are not using the heavily modded G as a daily driver, I found an insurace Co. that will do unlimited coverage as an exotic car. PM me for details.

Good question.

Do any of you FI guys have the mods listed on your insurance? Are you just SOL if it gets stolen or in a bad wreck?

What do you do (extra alarms?) to prevent theft?

So Progressive is covering all your bolt ons, I.E. Vortech and such? When I researched all insurance companies, none would cover bolt ons. All will cover audio, but that was it. Do you know what the value you submitted to your agent, and how much extra the cost was?

That makes much more sense. If he will cover your Vortech, Please let us know. I will drop my insurace in a second if he covers my APS. Thanks

Progressive

I have Progressive and they said they will NOT cover any mods that affect the operation of the car, ie: FI.

That is what I thought. Again, I called all the major insurance agents and everyone said nope, they will not cover FI. Oh well.
