1. I haven't posted in this thread yet so take it easy on me BrianlG35C.

2. It isn't about Vortech vs. anything else. It's about tuning, tuning, tuning!

3. I'm not running the stock Vortech. I've got the 3.12 pulley and I'm hitting 9psi of boost around 5500 rpms.

4. The Centrifugal S/C is really good for our higher compression engines IMO due to low torque at low rpms. As torque builds the rpms build and this situation generally allows for more fuel up top to cool down the pistons. The TT's with good tunes are just as safe and more fun to drive, but the extra costs and potentially higher risks are something that I didn't want to deal with. Also, most people have higher A/F #'s at 3200 rpm's than they have at 6500 rpms. This is why TT's scare me w/o an engine build.

5. The R4 S/W leaves a lot to be desired IMO. I wish there were more input cells other than having control of the S/W at 500 rpm increments.

Anyone know when the R5 S/W is coming out and if the old Split Second box can be reflashed with it? If so, I've got dibbs!

O.K. bro, what post are you reading?
When did I ever say the SC steals that much power down low?
Of course the SC's don't make boost/power down low, I'm talking about max power up top. No centrifical SC can make 400hp/tq down low.
Compare a turbo system to a SC system at the same boost at the same RPM.
Guys with 10 lbs of boost at 6000 RPM. That's what I'm talking about.
The SC's TQ can't compare to any turbo(at higher RPM's)
And yes, the SC's will steal a ton of power. Maybe not 100hp at 8lbs but what about higher boost?
Lets pull some dynos of 11 lb vortechs(remember they only make boost up top like everyone has agreed on) & compare them to 11 lbs from a turbo(again, compare the boost/power at equal points) both at 6000 rpm's.
I guess I'm all wrong, SC's make tons of TQ.
Glad this wasn't in person, I think I'd have to pronounciate a little better next time.
