Well let me start by saying that the above is a real shame and I am being very sincere when saying that.

I am not sure why you went down the path you did (in any event I respect your right to do so). You could have easily generated 425 to 450 WHP with just the fitment of the APS intercooled twin turbo system, APS test pipes, APS TD exhaust system with some custom dyno tuning by one of our experienced APS dealers with the tuning software and load based dynamometer, for an all up cost of approx $12,180 installed and tuned.

If you do the math based on based on the above, a gain of 202 horsepower (calculated on producing 425 WHP) using the APS path would cost $61 per horsepower, a lot less that the $130 per horsepower that you estimate for your current situation.

I understand that many guys want to customise their engine/turbo system to suit their own needs and desires - though ultimately this path is generally a more costly excercise.

Regardless, APS has made a decision to release a tuner version of the APS twin turbo system to assist 350Z and G35 owners achieve their performance goals with a higher degree of end user flexibility more cost effectively.

Good luck with your project.

James

So far installing the kit it seems VERY well thought out. When I first looked at it I was like HOLY CHIT! But when you get into the install you see why things are like they are! So far Im very happy with the time put into this kit. Rob at Z car garage said it was made so well he thinks it should cost more!

James one question. I got my kit and opened it up to find a black intercooler tube. On your site it shows it is blue on the G35. I know this isnt a big deal for most but if you look at my car you will see its a show car and this is big to me. How can I get that blue pipe?

James,

My estimation is based on my current setup, which includes 8.6:1 forged pistons. From what I've seen in other cars a compression of 8.6:1 with a max boost of 10lbs (what people have realalitically been seeing with APS) I should expect 425rwhp. As my goal is closer to 600whp [bold]I[/bold] will have to take steps necesarry to modify the APS kit that I was not expecting to take. Like I said, Peter told me all I needed was the built motor, the APS TT, and an upraded fuel system. Wastegates were never mentioned, had they been, I would have ordered them when I ordered the kit, and had them installed [bold]WITH[/bold] the kit, saving me probably close to $750 in labor. No where on the APS site have I found that the wastegates limit boost to 12lbs.

Thank you for your response, it's nice to feel belittled by a company that I sent close to $9,000 of my hard earned money to (APS TT and APS exhaust),

Some guy thinks I owe him an apology in another thread because I gave him hell (as well as the answer) to a newbie question! Whats this world coming to?
