Exclamation Which Turbo kit for my budget?

Hi guys,

I'm a new owner of a G35. I'm an owner of a VW/Audi Tuning Shop in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). I can built any tubo kit for VW/Audi reliable between 350-400WHP with stock engine but about Nissan and Infiniti engines i don't know much.

I would like to have 500HP (425RWHP) with my G35 with stock engine and 94 octane and i have 8500$ US to put in. (BTW i have the knowledge to fine tune the ECU program)

So here are my Questions:

-Wich kit you guys think is the best and more reliable?
-How many HP and Torque Stock clutch can handle?
-How many Horse Power the stock engine can handle?
-Wich exhaust give more power but is not loud?
-Wich other add on it's better to put?

Thanks a lot for your comments.

8500 is ur budget for a 500 hp car? i don't that is gonna happen my friend. 400-435 yes it could be done. something that fits around that budget, u could go with the aps TT setup or greddy (with the right additions) but when u start adding exhaust, plenum, gauges, tuning, etc.... its gonna run u. let me know if u have any questions.
thanks

Well tuning it's gonna cost me nothing because i will do it.
Install cost me nothing because i'll do it too.
Exhaust i will do it myself in Stainless 304, 2 lines of 2.5" it will cost me a lot less and i will get the sound that i want.

Like i told you i have 8500$ for the kit by itself and maybe some add ons?

So you "NEXTSTAGE350" you recommand me the APS TT, perfect.

But like i asked before what is the MAX HP for Stock Clutch and Engine?

At those HP and TQ numbers your stock clutch and flywheel WILL slip. It may hold 350 or so give or take depending how happy the clutch installer was with his life when he put your particular clutch in, but 425 rwhp, you will definately get some slipage. If you go with the APS it may be less expensive because the Greddy kit requires a lot of fuel system upgraes that it doesn't come with out of the box. i.e. Walbro 255 fuel pump, fuel return ststem, etc. It has no BOV/bypass valves. It does have external wastegates which are easier to change your boost levels, but I think you'll blow your budget sky high trying to get the Greddy kit in the right shape to handle the power you are looking for.

Go with the APS TT and get a 3" from the dp back. Many people are having cooling issues with anything smaller. You should be able to hit your mark with that but unless you are a Unichip tuner you won't be able to tune it yourself.

like djniknala said u will need to tune the unichip and that is a bieatchh. u would need to find a offical dealer for that there. aps is ur best bet and comes most complete. aps runs about 7450 "shipped" most places. u will need a clutch fo sho, i recommed gauges dats to monitor the vital signs of ur ride. if u cut corners on that at least get boost gauge of some sort. if u plan on getting exhaust 3" go with the aps, but it runs about 1300 bucks. pretty much u blew ur budget already. ever thought of ST?

i would look at the Greddy TT kit that Sharif put together in the classified sections of the my350z.com forum, it is a complete kit with an emange ultimate (better then unichip for tuning purposes) and will easily take you to the power goal. all you would need is a JWT clutch +flywheel and exhaust and you shoul dbe good to go. i think sharif's package is around $7495 and jwt clutch + flywheel you can get for around $800 usually. The only thing missing would be a boostcontroller and that should be all you need. O that greddy package comes with a free boost gauge as well!

The thing with the ST it's that next winter i will build a complete engine and try to reach the 800 RWHP goal so with a single turbo there is no room to fit one enough big for my future project. That's why i want a twin that will be able to provide my HP goal next year. I called APs to become a Supplier for them and they give me my discount so i will probably go with the TT kit and i will do a custom 2.5'' or 3'' exhaust with High Flow Cat. As far for a Clutch i will go with the Fidanza Flywheel and a custom Bully clutch (They have a patent for needle bearing pressure plate that gives you over 4000lbs of clamp load)

As far for the Unichip i'm able to reprogram all BOSH ECU so i think i'll be able to figure out how the UNICHIP system work. I don't say i will be able but at least i will try.

ahh i c.. that koo! if u get all those u should be really set. all the rest of those lil items shouldn't be a problem. sounds like plan my friend! one thing though on the the APS TT to get the more boost u WILL! have to change the actuators.

I have one friend of mine with the APS TT and fully built motor, but can't boost no more than 9 due to his actuators. his motor is is very capable, but b/c of those things he can't boost more. he also has another friend of his that i don't know, but did change them out making around 530 or something like that.

I am running the greddy tt kit on my and its great!! love it! just took a lot of extra parts to get there, but i got there and its fun. you should order from sharif something like that its www.forgedinternals.com. great guy and great customer service.

Turbonetics Single Turbo with Tuning can net you into the 400's.. You will probably have money left over for accessories like Clutch and Gauges

i like the TB kit too.
only thing with the TN kit i would def invest in the EU or some form of other engine management to run along side with der reflash.

have you looked at the Speed Force Racing twin turbo kit? the kit is setup out of the box for around 425whp, but the turbos used in the kit are capable of flowing enough air for your 800whp goals later on.

it also uses the SplitSecond fuel/timing controller which is easier to tune than the Unichip i believe. their G35 kit includes a dual Spearco intercooler setup to get better airflow with the stock bumper.

if i had lofty horsepower goals down the road like you do i would definitely check them out, and the pricing on their kit is similar to APS
