Stillen SC self install, anyone done it?

Yes I did a search and didn't find much but several people like to call the Stillen SC plug and play.

I have average mechanical ability and am an excellent (electronic) technician, and I'm tempted to install one on my G myself. I was wondering if anyone else has tried it. Any issues?

i did it,it took about 7 hours and the biggest thing i can say is read the instructions while looking at the engine, then reread them again.the only problem i had was soldering the 2 cam sensors and the 1 crank sensor(very little room to work with do not use the supplied crimps).after every thing was buttoned up i had a gas leak at the 7th injector(pinched the damn oring)which was a real pita once everything is together all in all the instructions are very good and what a blast to drive you will love the tourqe it puts out.good luck with youre install.

The only thing I would be worried about is the warranty. I know Stillen warranties both the SC itself, and the engine as well. However, do they still give the same warranty if it is not installed by an authorized dealer?

I installed the SC myself. It took me quite a while longer than the 12 hours that the instructions say it will. I ran into a few problems: Had a hard time with the main belt, one of the o-rings on the fuel rail tore so i had to go get a new one, and I had to trim my nismo bumper to get it to fit around the intercooler.

The warranty will be void unless it is installed by a licensed shop, however I don't think the warranty is as good as it sounds and its only valid in a stage 2 setup. I think most people will jump or will want to jump to stage 3 and even stage 4 if it proves to be a reliable upgrade.

Kind of what i thought; although I don't klnow about the warranty not being as good as it sounds, I figured it would be void if self installed.

Anyways, it's moot; I like the Stillen SC for it's driveability, but I can't stand the ugly hood.
