Up and running Woooo Hooooo!

Well I finally got the car back from the new upgrades . Bigger IC , 3 in. IC pipes , SGP valve body , Trannny cooler , new front bumper . All I can say is this car is a monster .

I can really tell the bigger IC and pipes flow much more air , The SGP valve body is great . It shifts and handles the trq. much better than before . I took her for a drive and worked my way up the rpm range . Every thing looked and sounded good . So I did a little boosting to 6psi . The A/F looked good so I went to WOT in 3rd gear going about 40mph . The tire broke loose and the backend of the car started to catch up with the front . Scared the chit out of me . The car is transformed . I took it up to about 10psi and around 5000 to 5500rpm's . Was keeping an eye on A/F and boost so Im not sure on the rpms . Need to do a little adjusting and checking for boost and vacuum leaks and then its time to tune . Im not going to tune it all the way to 7000rpm's untill the summer blend 92 octane comes out . Dont want to take chances .

I know Im going to be satisfied with this power level . Its going to be a hoot .

Can you tell Im excited ???? WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats booger. You're still running a Vortech setup right?? Was this a custom IC upgrade or something that fit between the stock pipes? Also how did you increase the boost from 6 to 10psi without changing the pulley??

Yes...We used a Icevex IC 12+31+4 . 3 inch IC pipe from the IC to the throttle body . I upgraded the blower to a T-trim and is rated at 26psi instead of 20psi . With the stock IC set up , I made 13.5 psi before the serp belt started to slip no matter how tight it was .

Congrats

Sounds great! Can't wait to hear more impressions when you have some more time behind the wheel.

well another set back . The blower is making the same very loud whine as before . I call and talk to Jamie at Vortch and let him listen to it . I took the cog belt off and no noise at all . So the blower will go back again and see if they can find the problem . ANother few week added to the wait

I suppose when you get to the point you are at, a few weeks is not that much time if you want to get everything perfect. Hope it all works out in the end.

I got the blower back in and was able to data log a couple runs . Got some new boost numbers with the new IC set up .

3500rpm = 4.5psi
4000 =5.5psi
4500 =7psi
5000 =9.2psi
5500 =11psi
5700 =12psi

That is as far as I took it . Feels really strong . If I get to 16psi before redline I'll have to save for the Utec , the SS box only goes to 16psi and I dont know what will happen if I go over that

Like the look of that bumper. Seems it was designed for G's with FI. Looks mean with that IC showing.
