I was wondering

I just finsihed having a Vortech SC installed and was wondering if there where others out there that where dealing with the same issues as I am. The SC makes a sound as it idles. Nothing of importance I hope just wanted to know if there are others out there that are having the same noises or have had the same noises. Also, if anyone has had the Vortech installed did anyone have to have the belt adjusted a few times to have the proper tention after break in and if so, how many times did it take to adjust it?

The noise when the car is idling is normal w/ vortech blowers; regardless of which car it is on.

Please do a search. Number one & two complaints on the Vortech are "noisy at idle" and "need to tighten belt". The noise at idle is normal (a chattering sound). Some people have the idle raised to eliminate it. It is normal to have to tighten the belt 2-3 times after installing it due to initial stretching. You can usually hear a squeal at start up indicating it needs to be tightened. SOme have purchased a "Gates" belt that is slightly thicker and seems to stretch less.

Happy boosting.

Do you mean the gates belt? I think Gates makes them for several auto parts stores. Here is a photo of the Napa version...

You are welcome. The Napa part # 060935 breaks down as follows (06 = 6 rib, 935 = 93.5"). This same part# was on a Goodyear belt I bought before as well.

Hey I am glad you like the car now that you have the charger on there. Good thing we got it installed quick for the 2 nice days we have had for you to test it out.
