Another SES code on Turbonetics install

So I had the P1274 code thrown right away and now I have a P1283 Code. I looked over at infiniti help for a description of what the code is but P1283 is not listed. It is however listed for certain year Maximas, and Quests. A shop told me that both of these codes have to deal with the the secondary O2 sensors. I am trying to confirm this. My Turbonetics S/T is the Catless kit. Can anyone PLEASE shed some light on this. MIAPLAYA where ya at? I need help from someone who has knowledge of this kit.

The cats shouldn't throw that light. I am catless and have "0" SES codes tripped. It may be because it hasn't been tuned and mine has....

From the 04 Factory Manual

P1274 1274 A/F SENSOR1 (B1)
P1283 1283 A/F SENSOR1 (B2)

You probably already know;
B1 = Bank 1 Passengers Side
B2 = Bank 2 Drivers Side

Sounds like both of you rear O2s are throwing codes. Are you absolutely sure your downpipe has the O2 extenders?

The A/F SENSOR1 (B1) & A/F SENSOR1 (B2) are located in the exhaust manifolds ahead of the stock cats.

There are also two heated oxygen sensors (HO2S2) located after the "three way catalysts" which monitor the oxygen level in the exhaust gas on each bank. I'm pretty sure these are the two that are relocated to the Turbonetics downpipe.

If one or both of these heated O2 sensors was sending a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) then it should be one of the following;

HO2S2 (B1) P0138
HO2S2 (B1) P0139
HO2S2 (B1) P1146
HO2S2 (B1) P1147
HO2S2 (B2) P0158
HO2S2 (B2) P0159
HO2S2 (B2) P1166
HO2S2 (B2) P1167
HO2S2 HTR (B1) P0037
HO2S2 HTR (B1) P0038
HO2S2 HTR (B2) P0057
HO2S2 HTR (B2) P0058

Since the DTC numbers provided in the previous posts were P1274 [A/F SENSOR1 (B1)] and P1283 [A/F SENSOR1 (B2)] I suggest source of the problem may be Air/Fuel related.

A few troubleshooting suggestions...

1) Check the A/F sensor and all other underhood wiring.

2) Test the A/F sensors by holding the engine speed at 2,000rpm and reading the sensors ouput voltage. It should fluctuate around 1.5V.
(The chance of both A/F sensors failing at the same time is reasonably low).

3) Make sure there isn't an intake air leak.

4) Check/test for a bad or "clogged" fuel injector.

5) Test the fuel pressure especially at full boost.

Yes the down pipe has the extenders on them. The are about 3" long each.

Ok i am a little lost. Are you saying the two banks are from the O2 sensors that where on the OEM Cats and are now on the TN Downpipe or these codes relate to the front two O2 Sensors? Are the front O2 sensors also called A/F sensors?

As far as an air leak goes are there any usual suspects with these installs?

Hey bro did you email Reggie a pic of your downpipe on Friday. If so then you definitely have the older version of the downpipe. Call REggie tomorrow morning and he can overnight you the right one with the O2 extensions built in.
