For all of you FI experts, advice and honest opinions please?
i only average about 3 thousand miles a year... so i'm good for a looooong time.
same concerns here. actually looking into the stillen... basically closing the door on myself. get power... and leave it alone... because i can't do anything else!!!
i've priced the vortech installed - polished blower, installed, and tuned, $6800.
and stillen - polished, stage 3, installed, cf hood, $8000.
additional money, less power, but more useable torque on daily 'city' driving.

To the original poster I recommend you get a TT kit right off the bat. Even though you only want 350=380whp you will probably won't more later. It will be cheaper to buy the TT upfront then later on having to sell what ever ST or SC you bought and then pay for the uninstall of the SC/ST and reinstall of the TT. Trust me I went down this route. I had a Vortech for 3 weeks before I bought a TT.

Don't be a penny wise, cause you will end up a pound foolish.

Freak thing...yes, but better to do a job once and forget it. If you spend $6000 on the kit, it will only run about $5000 more for a fully-built bottom end that will be ridiculously powerful and reliable. The kit is, however, very linear and highly powerful in stock trim.
what are the details on your car when it blew?
Was it tuned? what fuel octane? Do you have a full set of gauges? Do you have a fuel return system or different injectors? Are you running with the stock TN ECU flash or do you also have a piggyback? Any aftermarket oil pans or spacers?
The problem with the TN kit is many people already upgraded their exhaust or cats, or intake or whatever. Slap a turbo on and call it a day. Without gauges or dynoing who knows if the ECU flash is running the car right or not. Locally someone setup their TN kit and was running 18A/F at 5000 rpms. It would have probalby blown their engine if they went any higher in the rpms.

Thanks for all the input...
I have been continously researching FI systems. To be honest, I have read numerous posts where a supercharger is "more reliable" or "more practical" but I just can't stand the sound. I currently have just over 15K miles and it's been less than a year. So my car is REALLY a daily driver.
Well, I have plenty of time to keep researching before I make my final decision. I definitely want to order the kit I decide on just before I go out of warranty.

since you have an 05, you dont have many options. vortech wont fit. neither will t/n. the only ones i know of are aps tt & st and stillen
I'm kind of new to this whole car modification thing but my car needs to be faster... I'm not really sure how to go about this because I don't know too much about it so any help would be greatly appreciated... thanx.

Well, the car first pulled 368 rwhp. It was fine for about 4 months. Then I put the car back in the shop for internals. I went with Carillo rods, CP pistons(9.5:1 compression), ARP studs, a sleeved, honed and bored block and head, Ferrea valves, springs and seats, Cometic gaskets, Nismo oil pump, bigger RC injectors, reflashed ECU, a NOS I/C spray bar, etc. Now the car should be done in two weeks and it'll be running about 12 psi. I'll give you dyno numbers as soon as it comes back.
Ive had the Vortech for 2 years now . Ive just about replaced or upgraded everthing on the kit to make more power . The power now is where I want it and really dont think I will need more . [ around 450whp on Mustang Dyno ] will find out for sure in a week or so .
Now...In some ways Im glad I kept the SC and some ways I wish I would have did the TT from the get go . Ive ridden in a 600whp Supra and it was fast , but it sounded stock . And for some reason I relate hp with a good loud exhaust and the screaming of the motor and thats what I get with the SC . I believe the SC kit to be less complicated , but if you get one...right now . The whp level is limited by the belt slipping . The ATI Progarger is less prone to this problem because the serp belt that runs the cog belt , isnt as long as the one on the Vortech .
With either a SC or TT , it will not be a install and forget deal . Both take monitering and tweaking . Some parts on both kits WILL fail and need be replacing . The motor....built or stock isnt going to last as long and if you dont realize this going in...your going to be surprised real quick when it fails
