Re: procharger installed
It's not even about being ignorant, but about being cautious and worried about what the dealer will be able to say. For example, you put on a SC and then something goes wrong with your transfer case, your clutch, or even your suspension. The dealer says the car was not designed to handle the extra power and that is why the cars broke and they win. I know about this personally. I put a bigger turbo in my Eclipse Spyder, only added about 40 hp and then the tranny grenaded. They said the transmission could not handle the increase and I was out 3 grand. I can easily envision many problems the dealer can attribute to the power increase (the wires in the radio were not designed to handle that many positive g's, so the radio exploding and starting the car fire was because of the SC and not a radio wiring issue!!!!) I know that is extreme, but never trust a dealership, ever, anywhere.

Re: procharger installed
I have to agree with being cautious about modifying your car in any non-cosmetic way. If there is a problem that could be considered, in any reasonable way, to be related to a modification done by the customer or at his sole discretion, it will be very easy for Infiniti to deny warranty service.
This is an easy one to check though. Just call your dealership and ask them if adding a supercharger will violate your warranty, in part or in whole. My guess is that they will at least void the powertrain warranty.

Re: procharger installed
I had the g35c ati kit for a week now and I'm doing the install slowly, but I have a warning for potential owners.
Unlike the Z kit, the g35c kit does NOT have an air filter before
the supercharger. Instead, it has an inline air filter AFTER the
intercooler. This means that dirt goes through the supercharger and intercooler first, then stops at a collector.
Basically, you have an expensive shop vac. Since I had dried
dirt splashed from last winter's rain in that area, I'm concerned
that water and dirt will go into the supercharge and down...
I've called ATI about this and the only thing they had to say
was "could not get a filter to fit". I suggested maybe even
a light pre screen (finer than that quarter inch grid it comes with), but they seemed really indignant at the suggestion...
Before you buy, I'd recommend you ask if they have fixed
this problem...
best luck,
rob

Re: procharger installed
WTF , no filter pre SC. I would ship it back. Deosn't sound like the SC will ever survive the long haul. Drive in a few sandstorms and the tolerances in the turbine case will loose tolerance and boost will drop, drop, drop. Toss a small pebble into the inlet and wedge city. As said before WTF? Not even a screen?
