yes.

all i see is the wheels spinning on the 335i... the AWD version should eliminate that. increased 0-60 decreased 1/4 mile. improved handling.

Not exactly...

AWD are usually significantly heavier than their RWD counterparts.

It might perform better under low-traction conditions, but I dont see it outperfoming the 335i Coupe in ideal conditions (dry).

Probably improved handling, but not faster.

I wasn't aware of any 330xi that was faster than an 330i in acceleration performance stock for stock. Drive train power loss was probably a good part of that. I highly assume the same given the 335xi and 335i.

 

almost all of the videos on the 335i show the wheels smoking during straight and cornering. this wheel loss can be elimiated by AWD.

Yes i do agree AWD does add weight and reduced performance but 0-60 you'll find an improvement over the 335i

True, I agree.

But 0-60 couldnt matter anyless.

I never understood why people cared so much about "0-60"... unless the [Drag] Race ended at 60, which hardly ever happens. Too many things to factor in 0-60 times such as the driver, traction [wheels], etc.

1/4 miles and 20-60 and 40-120 are much more indicative of the actual performance of the car.

I understand your point though; AWD launches are a blast. But depending on much more weight is added, won't matter much.

for me its mostly 0-60, but for the majority is 1/4 mile and passing speeds as you mention.

my 05 G auto is breaking loose in the winter (summer tires) . obviously. but this occurance has made me understand the value of allseason tires & AWD.

I'd like to believe my next car will have allseason or AWD. And yes I dont mind adding 200 lbs to a new G coupe to give me AWD . After 300hp traction and cornering is all im concerned with. hell if my tires breakloose now i can only imagine how a 335i would do... UGH = need to have all traction/slip/etc on to drive the beast.

I really hope you get at least all-season tires cause AWD with summer tires won't help you much in the winter. I'm just stating the facts.

 

Stock vs stock they'll probably pull almost identical times in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile; the x-drive system adds enough weight to offset any traction advantage. Non-stock the non AWD will likely smoke it. Wider better tires will more than make up for it on launch.

In any sort of autocross (not in the rain), the non AWD will have the advantage of a firmer suspension. The rear linkages are totally different, fwiw.
