Infiniti G25 coming in september 2010

I think your making a big deal out of it by bringing up all these brands I have said nothing about.
but just to get my point across once and for all...
for instance:
BMW has always have had slow 3 series
Mercedes always have had slow C class
Audi a4-slow
if Bentley put out a 200 hp entry car they would certainly be stepping down, would they not????
Since about 2003 Infiniti has been known has the "fast" luxury brand
Now there is gonna be soccer mom G's all over the place.
Like I said "my age group" which is people in their 20's.
as for people in their 40's I actually do think that speed, while of course not being #1 (never said that either) is definitely a consideration when you buy a car with 300hp. If not, wouldn't they get something more fuel efficient?
Speed wasn't my #1 consideration when i bought my car. I toyed with the idea for a while, but I would have got a evo9 if that was my goal. I like the package of performance/luxury my car give me for its price.
Are people gonna start to look down on infiniti? NO. Like you said your average joe isn't a car enthusiast and they will just be used to the fact after a month or two of seeing them. I said "I" don't like this.

I guess from some of the earlier posts I wasn't expecting much when I test drove it. It was just going to be "yeah I test drove the new G" - I was expecting a dramatic loss of power, rougher shifting, and the feel of something less than a G. However I was pleasantly surprised - even with only 215 - 230 HP this car still feels like a G. It is still a luxury car and it still feels like one. It's very smooth, still quick, and feels great. And the 25 doesn't have the options that a 37 does like navigation, but everything standard in the Journey is already more than I had in my 05 35. I'm very happy with it!
The deal worked out great - I did a 3-year lease so when that's over the negative equity from my 05 will be gone and I'm in the meantime I'm driving a brand new car for less than $75/month more than I was paying for my 35.
This works for me. If you have to have the horsepower and stock navigation (or other things that aren't available as options on the 25) then you'll want to stick with the 3x-line. I think that anyone that is curious about the car though should definitely take one for a test drive - you might be surprised like I was

hmm, i test drove it too and i agree with the smooth shifting and it's still quick but it didn't leave the impression on me that the g35 did when i first drove it. It should definately do really well against the competition like the lexus is250 and whatnot.
-side note- also got around to test driving the 370z and hated the syncrorev. It kept trying to guess what gear i was going in to even if i was just going into neutral when coming to a stop

So I've had mine almost a solid 2 weeks and driven a little over 500 miles in it. Here are some updated impressions.
What I Love:
- The car is just fun to drive
- I haven't missed the added horsepower from my 05 G35
- I feel like the Journey is the perfect fit for me - bluetooth, Ipod/USB integration, backup camera - very nice standard options that I've used everyday
- Gas mileage - it doesn't look like much of an improvement on paper but I can definitely tell the difference. Yes you have to use premium but I was doing that in my 05 so no big deal.
What I Would Like To See Improved:
- When I use bluetooth with my phone, I'd like it it pause the Ipod. A 10 minute conversation means that I miss 2-3 songs
- The bluetooth doesn't seem to pick up the names of people in my phonebook sometimes when I do the voice commands. It'll usually pick it up after I restart the car though. I work with someone that has an M37 and his does the same thing.
I'm still extremely happy with it! Yes even though I'm about to make my first payment on it I still love the car. In case anyone is wondering about the color, mine is Graphite Shadow exterior with the Graphite interior.
