2004 Laser Red FX35

Thankya thankya. Really tryin to build it out all the way - sizing pistons and cams, fuel delivery, turbo kit and ECU/tuning for long term reliability. Looking for bottom end and torque, rather than top speed and power at high rpm. I'm an SUV and heavier than the usual VQ tuners. Want to keep it luxury, but put some bark into it's bite. Immediate future build goals are going to be 5-8psi boost and around 400whp, ballpark. Tuning will be huge part of it.

Tuned!
Well I have finally joined the tuned club. Took my FX to JTran Studios in Houston and had a mustang dynomometer tune with UpRev software. The shop did about 12 pulls on the car if I counted correctly. I've heard I shouldn't trust Mustang dyno numbers, but I'm more interested in the relative improvements (before/after tune). Don't really care how accurate my actual whp or tq numbers really are till after the FI install.
First pull was to run a baseline. This was my first Dyno ever, so the baseline was done with all my previous modifications in action. The car pulled 226 whp. My mods got me up to 226 from whatever stock was, but then comes the tune.
Rev limiter was raised (not removed) and speed limiter removed. He adjusted all my fuel maps for increases in power and torque across the band. Adjustments to AFR and the cam timing were made over about an hour and a half, followed by pulls to read out and confirm the new data. My FX responded by increases in power and torque across the board - it's obvious to me it's running better. Acceleration feels more free, as if I just made the car 500 lbs lighter.
Baseline - 226 whp and 217 wtq
217 wtq @ 4820 rpm
After tune - 246 whp and 255 wtq
255 wtq @ 2760 rpm
Here's the dyno sheet:
Talking turbo install with the same shop now - looking forward to nailing down the details.

Finally getting into details! Model numbers and sizing finally taking shape.
Walboro 255 fuel pump
OEM GTR fuel injectors
Haltec EMS
-add Wideband
-add IAT
-add boost control
Tial MVS 38mm wastegate
Tial Q Series 50mm BOV
Garrett 3076R turbo
Tial .63 SS turbo exhaust housing (maybe .82)
intercooler
custom ceramic coated piping all around
V-bands on hot side
silicone couplers & clamps on cold side
heat shielding
The general position of the turbo will go where my Stillen CAI is currently.
Downpipe will be routed beside the engine on the driver side to a Y-pipe feeding each cat.
Need to look at possibly removing the front engine tie brace as well as re-routing one coolant hose to keep it away from the turbo.
BOV and wastegate placement will be using a Y on a bend for good flow. Plenty of room to work with in the FX engine bay. Part orders begin at the end of next week.
