Get it replaced under warranty? I had the same thing happen to a Ford Explorer that I recently got rid of. When it was still under warranty, they replaced it because the leather was getting funny on it. If Ford will do it, I would thnk Infiniti would!

mine is starting to wear too, I noticed the coating is staring to peel off. Try using some leather conditioner. I used Zaino and it helped, it doesn't look as bad now.

Got a steering wheel from a Japanese Nissan Stagia. Same as the G35 steering wheel except it's missing audio and cruise control buttons and the airbag connectors are different. $70 shipped. I'll include the USDM Infiniti airbag inflator module cover from my '06 coupe (see picture). You would just need to swap the audio and cruise controls and the airbag inflator module from your steering wheel.

Isn't that the truth! Ford once told me that leaking valve covers were "normal" under the warranty.

The previous owner of my car, left the S.W. leather all shiny. Probably used lots of hand lotion........... (ugh, now that I think of the possibilities......)

My dealer noticed my steering wheel was worn at about 30K miles and ordered one without me even knowing it. I got a nice call from the dealer one day telling me that my new steering wheel was in and is ready to be replaced under warranty. Now that is what I call service. Your dealer should warranty swap it.

isn't there something we can do about this.. Like the dealer saying they can't do it??? When it can easily be covered by warranty by other dealers.. I called riverside infiniti in cali but i live in FL and they said it should be done...

Dealer can replace it under warranty bro...I had mine done.If one dealership wont do it another will! I always get my car serviced at different dealerships. One I go to for oil changes and minor things, another I goto for brakes, any strange noises etc...Call around.

If for some reason your dealer doesn't replace it, go to another. There are about 4 in the DC/MD/VA area where I am that are accessible under a 45 minute drive. I'm sure at least one of them would be willing to categorize this as a warranty issue. If for some reason you can't go to the dealership, start regularly applying leather conditioner and hopefully you'll have some luck there.
