Holy cow...that's pretty low. I just stick with:

0-10 mph in 1st
10-20 mph in 2nd
30-40 mph in 3rd
40-50 mph in 4th
50-60 mph in 5th
60+ mph in 6th.

Well, driving in 6th a lot definitely helps my mpg. If I drive normal (shifting around 3k rpms with a WOT every once in a while), I manage 21 mpg. If I drive and shift below 2k rpms all the time (I just did it on the last gas tank), I got 24 mpg. That's more than an extra 50 miles to the tank. The only problem I have is when I do shift under 2k rpms for the whole gas tank, I tend to drive pretty aggressive on the next tank of gas...as I'm doing now.

--EDIT-- meant to say, "im in NEED of...."
Revmatching is downshifting. Lets say you're in 4th, at about 2K rpm's, and you feel the need to pass, flooring it in 4th gear isnt going to get you going the fastest, so you revmatch into 2nd. Revmatching, is just that, matching the rev's up to what the rev's will be in the gear you want to go into. So if youre in 4th at 2K rpm's, you push the clutch in, and as your pushing the clutch in, you put it into 2nd gear while giving the gas pedal a little push, or "blip" as they call it, to about around 4.5K rpm if im not mistaken, I dont know the exact number, it all depends on the speed of the certain gear. I learned manual on my G35, so of course I learned this technique as well on my G35. It takes practice, but once you get it, its cake, itll be like tieing your shoe. Revmatching is a very good technique to learn, because once you master it, your tranny will last longer (as opposed to just throwing it in a lower gear and eating up your synchros), you save brakes because you use your engine to brake ( aka downshifting), and you will be in the proper gear after you come out of a turn ready for acceleration (granted you downshift by revmatching before the turn).

Have I embellished well enough?

That's something you have to do...It comes with driving and you will need to read up on the internet...We can tell you how it's done but it's up to your driving and experience...

Your syncros are actually wearing down alot faster if you do what chilibowl explained in a 4-2 downshift...To stop wear in syncros, you not only have to revmatch, but you also have to double clutch. Most people don't double clutch because in today's modern cars, the syncros are rhobust enough to handle it. Revmatching and double clutching are two different things, a lot of people think they're the same. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manual_transmission to really learn how a manual tranny works. Pay special attention to the internals->shafts and synchromesh sections to get the lowdown on syncro shiz. I also thought they were the same thing until one of my friends enlighened me

no, read that in a magazine. they said the car actually accelerated faster doing the skip. they said it was the only car they ever tested that accelerated faster doing the skip. i used to have an a4 c5, so i always paid attention to the corvette stories.

hm, i used to revmatch 6-2 all the time, now i do 6-3. i don't seem to be able to double clutch fast enough for it to be useful.

It does take a little longer, but with practice it shouldn't take much longer, and depending on how much of an rpm jump there is to whatever gear your trying to get to, it might not be necessary. But for a 6-2, i'd consider double clutching that or your syncros are really going to take a beating. Actually, I'm not exactly sure how beefy our syncos are, if they're pretty beefy, it might not matter anyway:-P.
