How many of you like to just keep your G35 factory?

I'll use the money saved on no mods towards the purchase a new ride. And I'll get top trade in value, unlike you.

AT sedan:

That's the great thing about the G.
In stock form, it's a fine performer, matching the BMW 330I in almost every performance category.
In modded form (provided you mod it RIGHT and not rice it out), all the G's great features can be enhanced. AND to top it off, alot of the mods can be had for cheap as the G sedan/ G coupe and 350z all share many of the same modifications.
It's not hard to mod. But it's slightly harder to mod correctly and intelligently.

Why do people have to slam each other for their choices? I wouldn’t call me car “a mickey mouse car” and it will out-run pre 07 stock MT or AT sedan or coupe – it has many times.
.
ya know -ive had my G35 SEDAN for almost 3 weeks now ( AUTOMATIC ) i came from a HONDA STREETRACING background - i purposely bought an AUTO / SEDAN so i would leave the car completely BONE STOCK..until i found this site! I still don't plan on racing this or pushing it hard - but im loving the sedan more and more - the more pics i see and read how cool everyone is ( regardless of how many doors ) im thinking i might start modding this thing...but i know how you feel - at first, i thought the G was too "classy" to be modded - i didn't want to get sterotyped into the " racer" crowd once more.
When I was buying the G, I thought I wouldn't mod it all. I was planning on just getting tint, an intake and maybe one day getting wheels. Only after a few weeks, I wanted more power, I wanted more handling, and I wanted a better and unique look. I've had my car since mid-August, and now have every bolt on, my suspension is done, and now I'm working on the appearance aspect. I don't regret a single bit of it!!!

Congrats on the new car - I see you're in SD, you should come to the Stillen meet in Costa Mesa May 15th - also there is a huge BBQ in Anaheim (both locations or within 2 hours or less of you)... you'll see lots of cool cars and good people... There will be a sleeper AT sedan that is modded with lots of little tricks
- I'll be there too, hope to see you there!
absolutely - my brother in law ( g35c) and my cousin ( 350z ) my friend ( 350z ) - if we can get the dy off - im ( we're ) hoping to go - also, i just noticed your GG emblems! nice touch - i'm feeling the GREY GHOST!

Anyone else think like this?
Oh and yes I'm 38 but I still thought the same way when I was 22 with a brand new Nissan 240X.
I'd like to hear you thoughts as long as they are worth hearing.

I had the same mentality when I purchased mine that was actually the main reason I got auto instead of 6MT. Minus the 20 inch chromes that were already on it when I purchased it, I didn't want to mod or race it so I thought to myself screw it I'll just get auto that might stop me from doing so... Turns out... hehe... It was unavoidable to mod, and although I miss the joy of stickshift and all the wonderful things you can do with it, I also enjoy the responsiveness of the tip-tronic feature in an occasional (not too occasional though) street race. Bottom line, this cars a blast to drive in every trim, and I will more than likely keep on modding I'm planning on doing some suspension and brakes soon but that's it for performance and I'm definitely getting the lambo doors.
I have a lot of respect for those who mod their car in new, interesting and functional ways. For me it wouldn't be all that practical. First off it's my only car and it's a daily driver so I need reliability. I keep it maintained, use synthetic and run premium. The tint, clear 3m bra and tires probably don't count as mods. I have considered purchasing clear corners and probably will at some point.
I believe in quality tires. I've had great results with my Winter Yokohama IG721. We had some terrible weather this year during our 7 month winter and the car performed flawlessly from a stop and at highway speeds.
As much as I would love to have a lowered car with 19 inch rims and summer rubber it just doesn't seem practical here. The massive pot holes would just destroy the expensive rims in no time. The car is fun enough in the when I get caught in the snow with all seasons on. It's weird here, you can go from snow to rain to hail then dry roads in the matter of a couple of hours.
I love looking at the great cars on this forum but I'm just too cheap to start sinking extra money in to my car.
I guess if the car ever need exhaust work I'd probably go for a quality after market solution to give a more aggressive sound. The car does have a brake job coming up in the near future so I might try some other pads.

I like to imagine how the designer wanted it before they had to make it work everywhere in the world... so it's stock but different. Only those with other Gs will notice.

I purchased mine with the intention of not changing anything. I have since added sport suspension, coupe/Z springs, clear bra, tint, and the list keeps going. I'm just not doing anything crazy to mod the engine.
