Why did you buy a G and not a 3-series?

What factor made you pick your G (sedan or coupe) over a BMW 3-series? If you hadn't already guessed, this is in response to this never-ending thread:
https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v36-2007-08/113463-07-g35-motor-trend-article-scanned.html

I have to say exterior styling myself, followed closely by the overall value.

Value, looks, and (at the time) exclusivity. Got mine at beginning of 04 and at that time, I didn't see any other coupes in the Puget Sound (Seattle) area whereas you'd see tons of 3-series.

I would not let my mom have a 325i as I feel it's a waste of money and the only reason for buying it is for the BMW badge. The 330i was way out of here price range. She also didn't like the interior and didn't find the seats comfortable. She also hates the look of the new 3-series which I do too. The performance in the G is so much better than the 330i and it's at a much cheaper price. The last thing was it's basically a Nissan so it should run for quite a while.

I have always likes the 3 series (until now), but have also always felt they are overpriced and a "me too" car. Everywhere I go I see no less than half a dozen at any given place. "Ive got a BMW 3 series." "Cool, me too!"

Performance, Style and Value

Performance:
Its a sedan, doesn't have 6 speed and it doesn't have 300hp or 19" wheels.

Style:
I didn't like the new 3 series rear end and its also a 4 door. The G hits the all the right spots!

Value:
Also the options and pricing aren't that great. You can get more options on the coupe than 3 series.

All the reasons you state, but value is what drew me most.

Having had a 2001 E46 325i that got totalled recently, to now owning a G35...

325i (had for 4 years)
Pro's - gas mileage, handling, status
Con's - insurance, not cheap to mod, expensive maintenance outside of warranty

G35 (have for 3 months)
Pro's - power, style, cheap to mod, cheaper insurance
Con's - not nearly as refined as the BMW (lot of little noises), handling sucks
gas mileage sucks (but that's what you get with better performance)

Exactly the same reasons as you.

To me,the g out classes the 3 series on the interior aspect. It just seems like bmw doesnt put to much effort into the vehicle in this department.!
Now if you bought a 7 series or higher then you will start to see the interior changes.! Imo mercedes and bmw are basicly the same when it come to the interior..you really dont get what you pay for.! They are great cars but need to tighten up when it comes to the inside..imo.!!

I won't run down the beemer's,I think there all "stylish" looking.

Now the G35's(sedan or coupe)....now thats head turnin' hot!!!

I can't believe the compliments and looks this car gets from people.

Still don't care much for the stock grills on 'em. But the profile on these cars makes the BMW look like a Yugo.

I like the prestige of owning my G.
