Is there a particular color that makes the clear film stand out more than others?

From what I have seen it is most noticeable on white and least on silver. I have it on red and it is pretty much invisible until you are right on top of it. I'll still take it anyday over non-protection.

installer did a good job on mine so it goes unnoticed to most people until i point it out to them. the bad clearbra installations go noticed without prejudice to the color the car painted in....

this thread has brought an interesting about my 3M on my G

I previously had the 3M installed before taking delivery...

I was charged the usual $699 for the install

and I was inquiring about the front bumper, and he told me that the front bumper has no 3M on it because the bumper is plastic...I was thinking to myself WTF?!

I was thinking maybe he just doen't know and it IS on there, well I've looked over the car and can't seem to find the edge or anything that looks like the clear bra on my hood and fenders.

Is it supposed to have it? or is it the $1000 job that includes the front bumper?

I am confused. So you do or you don't have a clearbra on your bumper? Typically all clearbra installations include at least the bumper. Many people pay extra for the hood, headlights, side mirrors, etc. if they want more coverage.

When mine was installed I paid about $600 for the full package (bumper, 1/3 of the hood, healights, side mirrors).

EDIT - If it is there, you will know it. You can find the edges fairly easily when looking up close.

As far as I know I don't, but I will take a thorough look once I get home...

i know on some Gs, theres even 3M where the door handles are...

I couldn't find it on my Sis's G35C either so...it's either a really good install, or its not there

Paid $650 for my venture shield clear bra that covers the hood (at least 1/3 of it), fenders (matches edge line of hood piece), headlights, sideview mirrors, and last but not least, computer cut single monolithic sheet of film for the front bumper. This was when the installer was still doing mobile jobs and so they came out to my garage to do the installation.

My bumper has seen quite a few dingers but the film has taken most of the initial hits and scuffs from the road junk... just clean it and treat it with wax and you'd be good all the time.

I believe the bumper is extra. The paint seems to adhere better to the plastic bumper than it does to the aluminum hood. I only have it on the hood and front fenders.

The bumper is the area most likely to be damaged by rock chips. Why would you go to the trouble of having a clearbra installed and not at a minimum cover the bumper?

Mine is 3 1/2 years old and not one chip in the bumper. I have chips on the hood above the clear bra.

thats the whole purpose of me buying it. I just thought it was standard issue that the front bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors were protected...

i still havn't had a chance to check it as I didn't get home from work till it was dark

Wow, these are some crazy prices... I bought my own at invicta-shield.com and installed it with help of a friend (tinting shop owner) and cost me around $200 for bumper and hood...

I have ice pearl and from a few feet away you can't tell it's on esp after it's been washed...

Would it make sense to clearbra the entire hood, or is that ill-advised? If the entire hood was covered, would engine heat cause the glue to come undone, cause bubbles, or cause discoloration?

I don't think you are going to find a piece large enough to do the entire hood in 1 piece, and installation may be an issue especially with bubbles in the center of the hood which may be difficult to push out fully. I've never heard of it being done, but call around and see if any of the installers is willing to do it.
