Hmmm, not sure about this guys g beating these cars... unless my mom was driving. Anyway, I got smoked by a SRT4 with an upgraded turbo. I decided enough of this, why put all this money into a G? Why not go out and get a car that can be modded a little and smoke anything on the road. So I got an 05 Viper. I can throw a super charger on there for 8 grand and run 800+ hp. So why drop 35 grand into a G (which you will blow the motor on) and why not go ahead and get Viper (internals are rated for 900+hp so 800 sint hard on the motor)... dump some money into that... and you rule??? There are some great deals on Vipers out there right now since the 08's will be out soon running 600hp. I only use my G now for daily driving. After driving the Viper it feels like driving grandma's car...

Well I dunno, I guess if I could afford a Viper maybe I would but then again if I had that kinda money I'd probably wait for the GTR and new M3 to come out... But I really don't think most of the guys on here who drive G's have that kinda cash... Or do they?! LOL... I know I don't ( not yet anyway ) But yeah, makes sense... Enjoy your new Viper dude, But I prefer a Japanese car to American muscle anyday, and IF I really wanted to be fast I'd probably go for an EVO, and send it to the boys at AMS...

http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...roducts_id=515

Viper, 80K and 8 more on an SC - 800+ whp - about 88K

Evo, 30K and 7+ more on a GT42R turbo kit - 1,000whp - approximately 40K
( APPROXIMATELY HALF AS MUCH )

DESSIMATING the Viper and any other high end, ( and super expensive ) exotic ( in a CHEAP looking 4-door, compact, 4-banger, econobox ) while the wealthy drivers girlfriend sitting on the passenger seat laughs in his face...

Priceless...

Aren't Japanese rice rockets cool?

if i had 80k. Id get a FD3S TT and but some garett turbos in. Then swap the engine to a 3 rotor 2.0 rotary. Then swap out all the internals for new piping and such. New exhaust system and a paint job and a kit. I think two garret turbos would be me at 1400 bhp. I think that this would probably be around 60k. and id spend the rest 20k ON X AND PCP
BIT CH

I agree with G Prospect. This has been discussed so many times on the forum. I don't think that many of the G owners can afford a 60K+ car. If they could then they would have one and wouldn't be spending 10-20K+ to make their cars faster. Why spend 88K on a viper when you can buy a used Evo, STI, or SRTfor 20-25K and put 10-15K in it and be as fast as the exotics or faster. So hence my point...people is looking for that quick bang for their buck. Why spend more on a exotic when you can spend less on a compact and still competitive.

Exactly... Most ppl shopping around for fast cars are looking for the most affordable options, something that ain't gonna cost much to fix if something happens on track day... Only the super rich can afford to go around blowing up Ferraris... I live in Weston FL and for all of you that know where that is, you also know about the extensive amount of high end cars in this area, heck, Rick Case even opened his own exotic car store here...

But back to the point, most the rich guys I see around here never race there exotics... You only see them out on sundays, and there never abused...

I know of 2 crazy dudes around here... 1 lives in my neighborhood and has a Porsche Carrera GT but he also own's an 07 STi... And some guy that owns a building by my office has a Ferrari F430 as well as a Bentley GT, BUT can be occassionally seen driving an 06 Stillen SC'd 350Z

I think that's kinda cool when you can afford a Ferrari or a 450K Porsche, and still find good fun in something like an STi.

Even the rich know not to go ***** out on their expensive cars because it's going to cost an arm and a leg to fix. That's why those two guys have a 350 and a STI to abuse. I call it being smart. I know I would do that if I didn't have to worry about money too much.

Yup me too... I know for a fact that a clutch job on that Porsche GT is 7-8 grand... He burnt his clutch last month and that's how much it cost to replace.

13.6? but what car does your friend have? sedan? coupe? at?13.6 isn't the entire story though - what was his 60ft. time? ( reaction time doesnt matter since he wasn't running heads up ) his 60 would tell you if he hooked up. what was his trap speed also? sorry - i USED to love to street / dragrace, don't mean to ask 1,001 questions - but more info wouldnt hurt.

I did, I ran him the first night we had the nitrous hooked up, 75 shot. He pulled about 4 car lengths on me at launch. It seemed pretty damn fast bro... He switched to 100 shot now though so it should be quicker.
