Navigation System & Tire Pressure

I have seen in pictures and in the G35 brochure that the navigation system on the G35 will show the actual pressure of each tire. I tried to find the pressure screen on the navigation system of a '06 G35 and couldn't find it, neither could the salesman. Just how do you get to the tire pressure screen?

I've got the same set up as you and no tire pressure screen, what you saw was a screen shot of the M's nav system which has a tire pressure screen. If you look at the brochure it will also say that the nav system will show you radio station etc, which also only happens on the M. Just a cute marketing trick infiniti is playing

Wasn't on my Sedan's or Coupe's Navi, but is on my M's.
Nice feature.. pity it's not on all Infiniti's navis.

Sounds like false advertising to me, though I have seen pictures of a tire pressure screen on the navigation equipped G35s on eBay. Odd.

Dang, showing the pressure of each tire was one reason I wanted navigation. Now I need to decide if it's worth the money considering the lack of use it'll get.

LOL, don't deny yourself the navi because of that....It's so much more useful and I've loved every one of mine and wouldn't be without it.
Get it...You'll be glad you did and sad if you don't.

Test drove a 2005 coupe and it had the tire preasure screen. I guess they removed it for 2006.

I wonder if there if a firmware update would be possible?

Curt,
Very interesting. The car I tested was at a local Infiniti dealer late last spring. It was an 05 6-speed coupe, lightly used. It had Borla exhaust and a CAI. Not sure if the guy did a hack or not?
I thought it was a cool feature when I was looking over the car.

Did the screen rise up from the top of the dash automatically? Or, did it come out of the radio head unit or maybe you had to raise it up manually?

Just trying to figure out if it was a stock system or not.

I know the G35 had the tire pressure screen on the navigation in prior years because I have seen pictures of the actual screen in eBaymotors.com listings. Now why would they remove a function yet still advertise it in the 2006 brochure?

Oh well, with the marketing support Infiniti is giving to the dealers, I can get into a navigation equipped G35 for a reasonable price. It won't be used 95% of the time but with today's cars, I think a navigation system is to a sedan what 4wd is to a truck/SUV as far as resale advantages.

Where the mileage and maintenance screens are? I'll look around there tonight just to see if I missed something.

Yeah, I believe there were mileage and maintenance screens.
Does the Z use the same Nav system as the G?
