VDC off for snow starts?

Winter Ice-X’s all mounted and ready to put on when the snow arrives. https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif Am confused as to getting started in the deep stuff and hills—searching turns up the advice to turn off the VDC. On the family Chrysler it has ‘traction-control’ that kicks in when the wheels slip starting in snow. Different than the G’s in that it is only effective at slower speeds. But on the G wouldn’t I want the wheels NOT to spin when getting started in snow, as compared to WANTING the spin when launching from the line? A real novice with this type of ‘wheel control’, so thanks for any advice.

I believe it mentions something about that in the owner's manual that you want to be able to slightly slip the drive wheels in the event you are stuck, especially for rocking the car back and forth to free it.
When the vdc kicks in, it kills most of the engine power, thus killing any chance of any movement.
Ordinary driving in most conditions, tho, should be with the VDC on...

It's a real lifesaver.
