clay and wax...

Steps in order:

1) wash car and dry well
2) clay bay w/ clay lube
3) wipe down car again to remove any clay/lube
4)Spread Meguire's NXT paste
5) buff off with microfiber towels
6) one more buff with microfiber to really shine her up.

Carnauba waxes are the worst for longevity. Synthetic polymer sealant types are probably the most durable. Klasse lasts about 6 months (Sealant Glaze) and Zaino is pretty durable too. Carnauba does look the best though...

^yeah carnauba waxes are not made for lasting against the elements, I see them as more for a car show finish than month to month. People put on Meguire's gold class thinking its going to last a long time (i think because of the price and the benz on the front) and it lasts a month or two at most.

And the shine dulls even quicker. Zaino still looks new again after you wash the car.
Providing you have a few layers built up over time. Detailer (Z6) is great after each wash and between layers of Zaino too. Tends to even it out more.
Nothing wrong with a good carnauba wax, just expect to do more frequent touch ups if you want it to look it's best all the time. Detailers do make it easier so you don't have use more abrasive polishes (combo-cleaners) that often.

I bought some NXT spray or "touch up" spray to use after every wash. I plan on clay baring and waxing every 3 months. May be a little overkill but the spray will last between waxes.

I think it's overkill on the clay barring unless you don't garage your vehicle on a regular basis. Just my 2 cents (adjusted for inflation).

I have the Eagle One Nano Wax and DAAAYUM it makes the car shine like crazy. The car looks like it's covered with an even coat of baby oil or something..

You're car looks hella good, by the way.. nice work.

I just did Meguiars 4 step (clay bar, scratch X - for hood, deep crystal polish, and NXT wax)

my car color is Liquid Platinum, and the reflection is that of a darker car. I also did NXT Wax on my rims.

Your knowledge is quite limited............!

If your using a cheap wax you'll get poor results.........fact! For the past
several years I've been using Zymol Concourse wax. It contains 91%
WHITE carnauba which is much harder than yellow. I'll put the shine of my
Twilight Blue G up against any wax job out there and the surface is not
effected by tree sap or bird poop.......washes off. At $163 for a 8oz. jar
it had better work and to me it's worth every cent!

ahahah $163, no wax is worth that. You can always buy expensive stuff it doesnt mean it lasts any longer than any other wax, that turtle wax or nu finish lasts the longest but isnt as shiny and its about $5 bucks

+1.. This is exactly what I do. Love the shine when I get done.

Except I don't use the NXT Paste. I've always used liquid. Find much of a difference?
