i bought a new 06 G35, couple of months back, i really love the car, the only thing i dont like is when i try to drive the car when its cold outside, it makes a jarring noise shifting between gears, according to the dealer, it is the VDC unit doing self test. do any of you guys have the same problem?

The VDC will do a self-test when you reach 15mph, its just a quick buzzing noise.

Between what gears are you experiencing this? Is it at all speeds?

 

It happens only once, the first time it goes from first to second.
So that noise is ok, and common in G35s?

yup I didnt know what that was either but ya it only happened the first time glad to know that it is a self test

 

this happens to me everytime the engine is cold. its like the car wants to chirp 2nd gear.

 

It should happen everytime you start driving, cold or not.

It is not knocking, its a jarring noise, feels like gear is stuck.
