Oh, and ITS AN OIL CHANGE! You can do it yourself for $15 cheaper, or just wait for it!

Dealer oil changes here are $50 and $100 for synthetic so there is a little more profit against the loaner costs too.

Instead, they put in a rapid lube station; which is much better IMO.
I only used it a couple of times, but I could be in & out in no time ....and only one trip.
I've taken my car there for every service interval, so I'm sure they've made decent money off me. It wouldn't bug me as much if the never offered a loaner for an oil change, just the fact they now want to remove this service. I did offer them the chance to "match" the price from the dealer I bought from, but they did not have a base sedan in stock. I even still have the email where they explained I was getting a great deal on my new car.

I guess it's their choice, but they will lose my business since they are now no more convenient than my local mechanic.

The rapid lube would be just as convenient if it was well staffed and managed especially with the one trip thing. Paperwork, inspections etc for the loaner all takes time.
I agree with the dealer on this one. Chicago has 7 Infiniti dealerships, but most of them are very small, with limited inventory (especially loaners).
If as a consumer, I choose to purchase a car from a dealer primarily on price (as the local service department you are going to is obviously good, or we would not be having this discussion), why should I expect the local dealer to assign me one of the 4 loaners he has for such a low margin service (oil change)?
I mean what if instead of the guy wanting the loaner for the oil change, I am a customer, who bought the car from that dealer, and now can't get a loaner?
I know it is easy to throw dealers under the bus, but some of their policies do have sound business logic.
