Guess it goes to show you that our cars are so damn hot, people will STEAL them just to get a chance to drive them. Man! Ridiculous.

Since you said the car is paid off, and it does sound like it's totaled (in Massachusetts, if the damage is 75% or more of the car's value, it's "totaled"), is that relatively good news for you because now you have an excuse to go car shopping? Did you have any mods done to the G?
I'm sorry you're in this position. Please let us know how it turns out, and what you plan to do. I hope you can pick up another one.

that sucks, he said, about 15K in damage 22k kbb value = less then 75% damage, not totalled. hopefully the insurance doesn't dick you around.

Well actually, it is possible. If the VIN is in the dealer's system, all they have to do is punch in the VIN. Then they'll have all the info to make the key. They would still have to program the key to the car though. I'm pretty sure all Infiniti dealerships would go through the same process. You would need to be the registered owner of the vehicle and be in the dealer's system. Although, when I had to get a key made, they didn't have my key info on file. They had to manually trace cut the key and program it to the car. From what the parts guy told me, they could've had the key ready before I got there if my key was in the system.

Then having VIN only isn't all it takes (thus my post).

Triji was telling people to put tape over their VIN plate?rolleyes:

I hope my insurance company doesn't bs and try to repair it. The damages is more than half of the cars value. Just sign me my check and be over with it.
Well, it's Wednesday... what did you find out?

Sorry guys computer issues but I could not check out the car today. Called up the countys Sheriffs office and asked to talk to the deputy but she said he was on patrol (strange he told me he was off today and so did another officer) and she would deliver my message when he specifically said that HE would call me up that day to tell me where my car was at. Insurance company is being a biotch too I keep calling the lady who was in charge with my claim but she never answers the phone and never calls me back.
