No I don't think so. It's a mercury switch. I think I remember reading the instructions saying it will trip if the car is tilted at least 20 degrees or something like that, which should cover if your car gets lifted or pulled onto a flatbed.

I'm not sure about parking on a steep hill, but I've never done that, so I don't know.

From reading other people's stories, apparently thieves will roll the car in neutral (car off) away from the house, then use the tow truck. That way you never hear a thing.

Thumbs down My 2 cents worth...

Scam to get insurance money anyone? Thats what it sounds like....Perhaps he thought it was time for a new car or was too drunk when he left the car home and reported it stolen. The story doesnt make sense. No one steals a G35 for joy rides, thats what mustangs are for..They go for the easy steal and I would think someone who does steal a G35 is for parts.

If you look by the shifter, you will see a small slot. Insert the release tool (or a small screwdriver) and you can defeat the interlock.

That being said, I still don't believe the OP's story..........

Man, that stinks. Sounds like they must've put it on a flat bed truck. Happened to a buddy of mines BMW. It got chopped up by the time they found what was left of it. Hope you had insurance.
