I know of people that did the filling in similar with other car parts. It's a good way to get around that. Just check that whatever it's filled with can withstand any heat in the engine bay that may. But you can achieve a clean look that way.

why would you fill the oem with bondo, sand and paint?... You could buy a carbon fiber exactly the same shape and put an Infiniti logo on it and paint it and have the exact same look without the bondo filling process... To each his own I guess...
