my car has done the twitching thing before.....changed out the plugs and it went away....big mission to change the plugs on this car tho.....but Wes G your car should NOT be idling at anything over 1000 when warm...i think you should hit up the dealer or something...

Mine jumps around a little but I have larger injectors.

I had the dealer turn my idle up to 850 when I got my UR flywheel.

[QUOTE=filthyg35]my car idles at 1100-1200...I sometimes eat out for lunch and stay in my car with the AC on probably for 45min or so and I don't see the gas gauge move at all...

This a BIG waste of fuel.. why not go into the eateria and do your munching there.. any time the car idles for 2-3 minutes while stopped in traffic etc, its a lot more efficient to shut it off. conserve energy, there is a limited supply.

YES!

I've complained a freaking thousand times to my dealership that my car feels like it's "Misfiring" when sitting at red lights. The "Twitch/Bump/Small Knock" has always been there. I NEVER put in anything less than 93 octane and mostly from "higher end" stations like SHELL/CHEVRON (w/ their cleaning detergants etc etc).

I've always thought that when I finally get around to having the plugs changed, this *MIGHT* finally solve that twitch issue.

Has anyone else heard of this or experience it as well????

Thanks Guys!

i just started to notice the clunk or twitch when sitting still, ive heard of this before and they said it was the low octane, but like you i always have high end 93 octane in my g... this happened alot in my accord when i put the acura cl type s motor in it, but i could make it go away, or sound worse, with my apexi vafc.... im going to try the plug change and see if that helps, i do have 71k miles now, but in my accord i had brand new plugs and it still did it

also i get stuck leaving my car runnin quite alot and also i eat lunch in my car with the a/c on full the whole time. Havent seen it drink gas @ idle but my gas gauge does what it wants!!!

Yeah! You can hear it even. Just stand beside the exhaust and you can here the knock and how it twitches if you look at the exhaust.

I've never took it to the dealer cause i thought it might have been normal.... I too put only 93 octane. My dads F150 does the twitching thing real BAD!! You definitely feel the earthquake through the car. I think cause its a BIGGER motor.

idle = waste of fuel... why would you idle so long that you care how much fuel you burn???
Are you the type of person that checks to see if the refrigerator light turns off when you shut the door?... BTW - you use more electricity opening and closing too...

this thread turned into the "telephone" game for kids... starts with one topic and ends up entirely different... it's one thing to blame it on hearing something different... how did this get so far off?...

not to stir up a can of worms, but... does anyone know how many hours my battery has if I leave the headlights on while my car is unattended?...
