Dilemma: 08 G37 Coupe or 08 G35 Sedan
Dilemma: 08 G37 Coupe or 08 G35 Sedan
Ok, I'm going to lay it down for you Gentleman and Ladies, my lease is up in March 08 on my 05 Pathfinder, I'm torn between the 2 vehicles. I'm thinking that I'll probably get a better deal on the 08 Sedan compared to the Coupe, but really want the Coupe. I'm hoping to lease a Coupe between the price of $400-500ish range a month w/ very, very little money down perferably $0 money down (this is in a perfect world). Am I off my rocker or should I shoot for the 08 sedan. Please give feed back.

In '04 I started out looking at the coupe (wanted it BAD)
For practical reasons (2 kids still at home) I ended up picking the sedan and was happy I did.
Now.....
Kids are out of the house & sedan too

I have the same decision to make. I figure I'll wait to see the G37 at the August 16th launch party, test drive it, and go from there. I really want the G37, but know that full MSRP is the likely scenario. I was thinking of an 07 Sedan 6MT, for which I could get a good deal on since the 08's are coming soon.
If I do decide to get the Sedan...I'd probably get an 08 6MT. I didn't like the clumsy engagment of the 07 and I've hard that it has been revised for the G37. So...it'll probably be smoother on the 08 Sedans as well.

6MT Coupe
Same thoughts back when I was shopping...still have wife and two kids.
Guess it depends on how old your kids are, I suppose.
Sedan...no brainer for comfort and convenience for back passengers.
Tried the family in the coupe, my kids (teenagers) felt comfortable and were surprised at the room they had back there.
Now for my wants...really wanted the coupe for ME. It's gonna be MY car.
Other thoughts in decision: How long kids at home...how many times I have passengers in back...is it that much more inconvenient getting passengers from back in/out and for them...etc.
I chose the coupe
G/L with your decision...then you need to decide 5AT or 6MT
...lol
My sig tells you what I decided on that

I ended up going with sedan (For the 1st time!) for practicalities.
Always been coupe and hatch lovers..
No regret.
Plus insurance is cheaper.
But i still can't get over redesigned rear G37....
Plus you know those cars gonna be hot sellers. probably won't budge too much far as pricing goes.
Oh and if you have kids... forget it.

Well, first of all the dealers are posting expected $600-$700/mo lease rates, so your $400/mo seems pretty unrealistic.
Even tho I have always been a coupe guy and even tho I do not have kids to haul around, I am now considering the sedan. First, with the street sedan price versus the sticker coupe price, the price difference will be almost $5K, while the performance (other than the better cornering power of the coupe sports suspension over the sedan sports suspension) will be nearly identical.
It's funny how many people say the $5K price diff tween the 335i and the G37 causes them to prefer the G37, but no one says the $5K price diff tween the G37 and the G35 sedan causes them to prefer the sedan. Plus, I would get a useable trunk with the sedan. And, a back seat that some adult could actually sit in during those few times when I need to put someone in the back seat.
If the G37 is the most bang for the buck, then the G35 sedan, with the same bang for less buck, must be the mostest bang for the buck.

i was thinking the same thing as you last weekend when i picked up my G sedan. I was willing to wait for the coupe, but after reading a Car&Driver issue on the G37 the 24 hp more than the sedan, wasn't enough to counter the fact that it weighed 200 lbs more, and had a trunk that wouldn't be able to throw my luggage in when i travel, and they also said the back seat was smaller than the old G coupe. So i bought the sedan and haven't regret it yet...
