removing MAF

removing MAF

how can i bypass the maf sensor? if i install aftermarket cold air intake... can i bypass it? my sensor is dead!!

What? On what basis do you think this is a good thing to do? Do you even understand what function the MAF serves?

You can always go with a speed density tune, it'll tune out the MAF. If you are looking to do this just to fix the problem, I wouldn't. Save some money and pick up a used or new MAF.

but when you put aftermarket intake? it doesnt have the spot for the sensor? or does it? what will happen if i wont have a the maf sensor?

I'm not sure how the MAF sensor is designed in the 3.5 L since I do not own one yet (I currently drive a 1999 pontiac grand prix), but not having a MAF will result in decreased gas mileage and performance, for the computer will not know the optimal air/fuel ratio to use. Also, if you take it out, you'll most likely get the service engine light to turn on.

If an aftermarket intake system does not have anywhere to put a MAF in it, heres a simple solution, drill a hole in it, put the MAF sensor in there. I'm not sure how they look like in G's but that should do the trick.

uhhh, i dont think your car will start without the MAF

yes there is a spot for the senor on aftermarket intakes

sure it will....started my 05 maxima when i installed the intake without connecting the maf cable, just gave a CEL light ( shut it rite back off) Took off the battery again and it was gone -=]

what would happen if i put a g35 maf sensor on qx4?

same HP... both engines are 3.5L.
