My car is out of the 4yr factory warranty. Its an 03.
It still has the powertrain warranty left on it until 09...

Anyhow heres the deal...
I can get an Infiniti warranty:
3YRS 48,000 Miles
for $851 +Tax...
OR
4yrs 48,000 Miles
for
935+Tax...

Im thinking of going with the 3yr warranty, because I put more than 12k miles on a car a year anyway & having the more months is not going to help me if the miles get on the car sooner anyhow...
I have 19,500 miles on the car now... so that means I would be cover up to 67,500 miles... Not bad! or at least 3 more years!

Think I should do IT?

Really depends upon what the warranty covers and if you're planning on leaving your car relatively stock, because if you're not, the entire warranty may be voided.

I've got a 60 month / up to 100,000 mile total mileage (40K now) "extended service contract" which I regret purchasing because (1) I'll likely mod anyway and (2) I was lied to by the used car dealership and told it was pro-rated, which it is not. Only purchased the damn thing because of that reassurance because I may sell my G within a year if I end up at med school up north or in a big city.

not true he can mod the car and still have warrenty. alot of times if you take the car in for a problem they will try and blame the mods. by law they have to prove it is the mod causing the problem.

except for FI

That's true... if a non-OEM part can be attributed to having caused the problem they won't cover the cost of the repair. However, many warranties have a contingency that any aftermarket ADDITION (think the plenum spacer) can void the warranty.

warranties are a waste of money...until you need it. Then they're a huge value.

I got it a month after i got the car in july. I got the 96k one. So far I got a new radio, gas cap, and a valve they think my be causing my car to throw a evap code.O yea gotta love the free loaner car. At best it will be a waste of money. At worst you be driving another infinity while yours gets fixed for free.

Is it an bumper to bumper or only power trains warranty?, The power train warraty from Infiniti is up to 70k miles, so it depends on when was the car first purchased, you could still be covered for more than 2 years...Did you read the fine print on the warranty you going to purcahse? just because you buy it form Infiniti dealership, it doesnt always means its from Infiniti crop itself, the third party's warranty tend to be more problematical and might have more restrictions when the repair time comes.

get all the details on exclusions and make sure it's bumper to bumper. i work for an insurance company that sells mechanical breakdown policies too and you have no idea how many customers say "they said/i thought it was a bumper-to-bumper warranty!!" after their claim is denied. bottom line: DON'T PAY WITHOUT SEEING THE CONTRACT.

yeah, check the exact details on your warantee. I got an extended warantee on my G and it paid for everything that went wrong so far, nothing major but it has almost paid for itself in 1 year. (wind shield wiper motor, power door lock actuator etc)
