Dont get me wrong I am ok with it or I would not have bought but there are plenty of cheaper shizzit boxes out there that are faster. Mustang, Evo, SRT, etc

I have a '04 6MT coupe and have had the following problems that most G owners have had:
1) The annoying rattling rear view mirror. Had it replaced by warranty so not a problem.
2) Check tire pressure light coming on after driving on the freeway for about 10 miles. Covered by warranty, dealer just reset the computer
3) Gas tank would not fill up more than 3 gallons at any gas station. Covered by warranty
4) Rattles from the box above the glove box, etc. this is normal from suspension mods.

Other than the above problems I think the styling and looks of the car overweigh the problems and would buy again only if the car looks as sexy as the G35C

Well if you think about it? 300 HP will only move so quick when you look at the fact that most of the G coupes are 4300+ pounds. They could do a lot better by reducing the weight and increasing the weight/power ratio. Besides? Where else can you find something around this price thats fun to drive, tons you can do and has the amenities of a G going to 60 around/less than 60?

Of course, they also include heated leather seats, navi, 6 disc in dash changer, a decent back seat for someone 5' tall right? My point is, the interior quality like it or not, is far above anything your going to find in a mustang, and it wont look as cheap as an EVO or SRT inside. The new Charger ONLY comes as a 4 door and weighs over 4700~ pounds, I cant complain about my G

G35 Coupe "Sport Package"

Mustang - not same level of quality and your talking about the V-8. the V-6 can't touch the G and the G can stay with the V-8, pay less and get less. can't keep up in the twisties. why do you think they keep tweeking that thing. Roush, Parnelli Jones, Shelby editions. bad choice IMO.

Evo - purpose built, rally race car for the street. not really a fair comparison. vehicles not in the same class. you will spend just as much and get more performance, but no luxury.

SRT - it is a NEON! enough said. another purpose built machine and not in the same class. what a step down. pay less and get much less.

If you want to blow those cars away, just bolt on TT or supercharger.

I am tired of people bashing the G for not being fast enough out of the box. why not try comparing it to its in class competition. and then you usually have to spend thousands more. with a V-6 pushing 300HP @ $35K, the amenities that come standard and the looks...find a better package.

sorry to highjack this thread. I am defending my Nissan pride.

Dont feel bad what so ever, I am doing the same thing. I was just watching a youtube vid last night watching a slightly modified NA G pass a new model C6, which I believe is well above the price of a G. If anyone sees me in an SRT please shoot meh!

Btw, the Mustang that DOES come with a V6 is a 4.0L and even then its still not touching 300 hp, your just wasting gas driving around lol

I bought a 06 G35 5AT sedan last June. The only problem so far is the CD changer. If one is looking to buy a entry level sport luxury sedan, there are not a whole of choice.
1. Acura TL, Audi A4 - front wheel drive
2. Lexus IS350 - well it's a Lexus if that's your thing
3. 335i - very good but cost a lot and the turbo overheat issue.
4. Caddy CTS - 4000lbs and heavy
The G35 has the best compromise -- though not as powerful as the 335i but comes very close;costs lot less and much more reliable.

I haven't personally had that many problems with the car, but enough is enough. I mean, I personally think that if lexus or bmw put out a car that had so many repeated major problems like trannies and oil consumption, they would have taken a much better approach to the problem. Members here seem to have to go through great lengths to have to prove to a dealership that they have a problem. Some people who have these problems still haven't been helped by their dealerships or inifiniti. Sure I got an ok one this time, but after all this should I risk another 40-50k on a potential headache and know the dealer or infiniti might not take care of it?

I love my car, the way it looks and the way it performs, but next car will probably be a lexus for me. Too bad they don't have any cars that look any good right now. As a matter of fact, if I had to buy a car right now, I wouldn't even know what to get in my price range. 335i coupe is the front runner for me right now if i absolutely HAD to get a car right now, but I'm not totally in love with it like I was when i got my G.

the only reason I bought Infiniti was because I love everything about the new G35. My friend bought the IS250 which I think is OK (if you are in that sort of things) but is too small for me. The 3 series is too expensive, once you put all the options will cost close the the 5 series.
I have so far 1700K and I am loving this car and my brother made his mind to buy the G37 after he drove my car.

I wouldn't say the G is slow. My previous car was an automatic mazda6i. So compared to the G, this thing is a speed demon

LMAO, well it should be around 3800 pounds, but all the power options...look inside your driver dooro at the little white sticker, it should show GVWR (Gross vehicle weight rating) , or at least mine did depending on the options I have.

I would have to say no. Weak paint, rattles, and of course the notorious distorted front end geometry causing the tire feathering pretty much discourages me from going the Infiniti route again.

I've owned one Nissan and am on my third Infiniti and haven't had any major issues with any of them. I'll continue to buy Nissan/Infiniti products.
