With all of Nissan/Infiniti's car problems, would you buy again?
Dont get me wrong I love my G, its one of the best sports cars on the road but...
After having so many problems with my car, an 03 coupe fully loaded, with known problems replaced or known:
tranny replaced at 20k, engine currently burning 2 quarts of oil plus per 3k ( under consumption test), both lower seat foam deteriorated and damaged leather (replaced) , gas cap keeps "unclicking" itself and causing a check engine light, fuel sending unit( recall), terrible inner tire wear/camber issues, creaks all over the place on the interior, etc. etc. etc. etc. and thats just for an 03!
...I've come to the conclusion that I dont know if I buy a Nissan/Infiniti again. I never had a problem with toyota/lexus and if I did it was never on this many parts or on this level.
Answer the poll as to whether you would buy again, or Im just being a traitor?

My problems are a few paint blemishes (scratches), a rock chip in the windshield, a temp sensor that occasionally gets up to 15 degrees off, and a fixed noisy drivers seat.
So I would buy one again based on my 4 years experience with this one.
Whether I will is undetermined, and at least 2 years away. I don't think the other cars I consider (based on seeing them on the road) would be as much fun to drive. Some are cheaper (primary purpose of car is to get from here to there), maybe get a hybrid (for fuel economy), maybe go up a step to the M35x? The main reason I've resisted another G35 in the last year or so is why spend the money when I already have one

Other than the paint chips too easily (but it hasn't been all that bad on my car though compared to other G's I've seen), my car has been faultless now at 27,000 miles, knock on wood. Not a single issue. Hopefully the new paint technology Nissan is using for the GT-R (special chip-resistant paint and two clear coats) will find its way down to the less expensive models after awhile. I would definitely buy Nissan/Infiniti again- excellent service from the local dealer who is mod-friendly (Lokey in Clearwater, FL). Best bang for the buck in price vs performance and technology. Nissan/Infiniti is also spending their money on improved quality, for example, the new HR engines are made in a brand new state of the art factory.

G35 Coupe "Sport Package"
I have had a 94 300ZX convertible, 97 Maxima, 03 G35 sedan and now my 05 coupe. No issues on the 300ZX in 4 years and 40K of service. Maxima had a tranny problem and whole 5 speed was replaced under warranty. Problem was probably from me driving it too hard. No other issues in 3 years and 30K of service. G sedan no issues in 3 years and 20K of service. G coupe in 2 years and 20K of service, no issues.
I would have no problem with purchasing a Nissan/Infiniti.
Ask my father the same question about his last two Mercedes, E500 and SL500.

Just the normal, rattles here and there, checap paint, window issue and the notorious CD FROZ error. I don't know if this would sotp me from buying another Infiniti though.

With the revup oil consumption issue and not meeting their retarded 1qt/1000mi or worse for warranty replacement, I'd say never again with that generation VQ block.
Other than that, I'm happy with my G like flies on sheit.

It's on the new EX so no doubt it will be on everything soon.
I have a long list of issues with the G but wouldn't stop me from buying another Nissan/Infiniti.
Here is my history with Nissan/Infiniti
My wife and I own or have owned:
1995 240SX - purchased new - driven for 175k miles. The only maintenance/repairs done were oil changes, 1 set of spark plugs, 1 battery, 1 starter.
1997 Maxima - purchased with 40k on the clock, currently at 106k. Nothing but oil changes and a rack'n'pinion.
2007 Murano - purchased new - No problems at all at 4k miles.
2007 G35S 5AT - purchased new - No problems at all at 3500 miles.
When I compare our experiences with those of other family members with Ford/GM, and with other folks driving BMW and MB, I'd say Nissan has incredible reliability and build quality.

04 G, speakers blown two times at normal levels, AC unit went out, and recall on Fuel Line.
As far as Quaility Control Lexus is number 1 out of all vehicles of course you are going to like them better --- Nissan/Infiniti is actaully very low in Quaility Control. you would think they would be higher. Nissan is worse than Mitsubishi. I think Nissan is the worst car manufactor from Japan in quaility control.
however the G is a great car, SLOW but a great car. I would buy again, truthfully the only cars I would trade mine in on is an M3, M5 or CLK 55 AMG. Other than that the G is a great vehicle for the money. Style is top notch. However the new Altima pi$$es me off. I cannot believe that Nissan did that to us G owners.

- not from the JD power surveys I have seen. where did you get this info or is it just your opinion?

My problems have been minimal and I have owned my G for almost 4 years now. One window motor, a lock actuator, and a crack in my headlight housing. All covered under warentee with no questions asked and good customer service. So I am not really sure what you mean. The oil consumtion issue was only with a certain number of rev up motors. I had more issues with my Acura Legend than I have had with my G.
But I will agree the G could be faster than it is.

96 Altima bought used, never had a problem with it (40k miles + 50k I put on it)
99 Maxima bought new, sold in 06. put 70k miles on it, never had a problem with it.
91 300ZX TT bought used, total money pit. The heat under the hood cooked everything before I bought it. Tranny was wasted, injectors, harnesses, all bad
06 Armada bought new, 26k miles on it now, only issues were TSBs that I took it in for
06 G sedan, 23k miles, had a broken seat bracket, other than that all other rattles, CELs, quirks were all self induced.
Yeah, I'll buy again, if the model fits the bill, no doubt.

okay, I do not think anyone who is an enthusiast would disagree, but then how much more. what are you comparing it with?
