I believe several years had problems with the manual trans. Most complaints centered around synchro's (Grinding gears).

Alot of owners had to have them replaced under warranty. Even the new generations of Transmissions still seem to have the same problems.......

Hope this helps

I have an 04 coupe. I had grinding on 5th and 6th gears. I went to the delearship when it started to happen (around 29K miles) and they replaced my tranny with no questions asked. good luck to you

Both of the above are accurate. Very common and Infinity was replacing them under warranty. I had mine done around 25k miles iirc.

yah mine grinds every now and then but the stupid guy I talked to said there is no problem with infiniti transmissions.

when they test drive it, I know they are going to tell me there is nothing wrong with it. They have been trying to juice me out of money and screw my warranty on other stuff most likely because im only 21. Whats the best thing to go up there and say to get a new one??? advice would be great. Thanks!

Call Infiniti Consumer affairs and get a claim number. That's a good place to start and then speak to a service manager that will listen. They know the 6MT has problems and a good SM will address any issue. Good luck.
